Well, Tan got her Higher National Certificate in Garden Design the other day, and received today the award of Student of the Year - Yahoo!! She is already an award winning garden designer!!
The kids are feeling the pressure now though, as I was engineering student of the year back in 1981, so that makes both parents students of the year.......what a bunch of swots we are.....
Congrats to Tan!!! What an accomplishment!
Cheers RN - To say she is over the moon is an understatement - but she worked very hard for this, and is already winning lots of work.
Congrats to Tan! That's quite an accomplishment!
Very cool, NW. That's quite an accomplishment.
Congrats to Tan! Now everyone will be watching YOUR yard

Oh wow, that is
great! I bet your yard is going to be the envy of the neighborhood. Congrats to your daughter

Hi SM, no Tan is my wife. I lifelong lover of gardening who decided 2 years ago to get a formal qualification in her favourite subject.
Now my eldest daugher, Belle, has her GCSE O Levels next year, the first big set of exams for people over here...Followed by A levels (if she does them) then three years degree (at £9K a year) - followed by youngest Livi 20 months behind - so we will have stress of exams etc for a few years now...Followed by stress of me wanting to retire.
Given how well-done even the most amateur gardens in the UK seem to be - that is quite an accomplishment! Congrats to Tan!
Cheers for all the nice comments. She is still basking in the afterglow of it all - but she did help me pot -on my chilis and peppers earlier today, and watered my onions the other day too.
Yes I think Brits do like their gardens, nice lawns, roses, herb patches and veg.....
