I mowed the lawn for the first time this season last Sunday - a nice feeling, although a feeling of this is now a weekly chore until maybe October.
I have not sowed anything yet (you reap what you sow, so it might be bugger all unless I pull my finger out) - generally I have a go at onions and chillis.
Tan (she who must be obeyed) is now a fully qualified garden designer and is starting to concentrate all her new found academic skills into Show Gardens - first up is the Malvern Show - it will be judged by RHS - Royal Horticultural Society (which is a BIG deal in the UK garden scene).
Ohh nice one for Tan, NWo. Would you be willing to share photos of what she designed for the Society?

Hi 2Beers - Wow yes of course, Tan would be chuffed to bits. I hope it wins something - maybe one day she could do Chelsea - she has been an avid fan of this show for years.
I will post the design later - and later the show garden..
I'd love to see that as well.
Yes! Can't wait to see the pics of Tan's creation!
Ditto!

I can't wait either...I'm sure it will be beautiful!!!
Wow - thank you all so very much for your interest. The Malvern Show is in May, so I will make sure we get lots of photos, and I will link the design which got Tan the commission as soon as I can.
She will get sponsorship for the garden, which goes to charities which (I think) help support people through gardens (therapy for special needs kids and adults etc).

How very exciting, can't wait to see the pics! Best of luck on securing those sponsorships, nice to hear that the funds raised go to such a worthwhile cause.....
Have you ever been to the Eden Project in St. Austell (Cornwall)? My parents visited years ago and just looooved the place, especially the gardens (Dad's got ginormous green thumbs). My fantasy is to travel with hubby & the kiddos to Cornwall (where I briefly lived) and visit the Project, looks fascinating!

Hi Burma Girl,
No we have never been, (much to Tan`s disappointment), even although we have drivien past it a few times when in Cornwall. It is funny, when you have something really wonderful to visit a few hours drive away, you never seem to find the time to go and look.
Cornwall is lovely - my Grandparents owned and ran a guesthouse there for some years after the war, before retiring to the Midlands.
