Thank you all for so reminding me of my "runts".
Having pulled in all of the potted plants to escape the chilling frost,
to be cozy with me and the cats, the last old summer pepper was salvaged today by your quick reminder. That last pepper, let's see, looks like a banana pepper as big as my pinkie fingernail, shall be devoured on this eve of new years eve.
REAL TIME : Biting into it now, my response forthcoming:
a smile of spring arises from the first wabbit tooth crunch into it, the offset teeth biting a wedge, parly deeply into the stem and off into the flowery green part underneath as it is masticated and rolled off the languinistia muscle o'er the pallets of paint, this green pepper so virbant in hue, never biting to my buds, a friendly cheerful taste into the year to be, soon 2011. Thank you my wee peppar.

Hooray and Amen to that!
Had a lovely day today. Tan and I drove to the local Garden Store and got some peat free fibre pots, and some seed compost so I could sow my chili`s for this season.
Got back home and did a long drum session in the studio, (which always makes me feel chilled and relaxed after), and then still in the endorphin high, I got on with sowing my Hot Jalapeno and Demon Red pepper Chili`s - all the time thinking this is what John JR Robinson does with his life, (session drumming and chili growing) - Hats off to the bloke - I can think of a lot worse ways to spend a day!
We have several type of flowers and lettuce started from seed. Almost time to start the cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers.
Yes - I have to get the onions sorted next - hopefully a job for tomorrow if the weather holds.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a "patio" garden?
We have a nice yard in back. Unfortunately for gardening, we dont get much in the way of sunlight because we have about three trees which keep our yard shaded during the day, and I would love to try to grow some herbs and maybe even a tomato, or onion, or try some peppers - like jalapenos - but I have had no luck with pation gardens for whatever reason. Not sure if the pots are big enough or what I am doing wrong, but sure would like to try it again this year if someone has any suggestions.
I wish I had a place for a garden. They don't even allow us to have container gardens here. Another reason to move.
I've tried a patio garden in the past. Tomatoes work fairly well if you have a large enough pot and a tomato cage or a bean pole to tie them to. I'm not sure what we'll do this year, since we've moved to a rental. There is a very small raised garden area that we may try to grow something in. My husby has also talked about trying those hanging containers that have your tomatoes growing upside down.
I like to at least have flowers in containers. I had a bunch at my last place. Everyone had containers on their porches. My sister(and roomie) grew onions, garlic, and tomoatos, and herbs in her containers. It was pretty awesome to walk out to the backyard and get some fresh herbs to use for dinner that night.

Boomer - I have had a word with Tan, (misses) as she is doing an HNC in Garden Design at the mo. She asks, "Are you wanting to grow plants for beauty, or productive stuff like the herbs and Chili`s etc?"
I think she felt the shade was not in your favour for most productive growing, but let us know mate, and I will report back -
