Guinness is my very favorite, and then Mac n Jacks.
I Love Guinness, up here in Syracuse N.Y. Micro brews abound. "Ithaca Apricot Wheat", "Middle Ages Druid Fluid" are two of my favorites.
My missus has got a think about Druids, Old England and Oak trees.........

There are some places around the UK which feel, well, sacred.......

Drink on!!
Whatever comes out of my fermenter.
I'm relatively new to this board, and this could very well become my favorite thread. When people ask me about my favorite beer, I usually say, "it's relative."

Currently, my favorite BRAND of beer is Widmer Pitch Black IPA. The beauty of being a beer lover is that there are always new varieties being created, so one is always able to keep searching for the one that's better than the flavor currently preferred by one's palate.

However, I can also recall the best moment I spent ENJOYING a beer, which was during a visit to a sports pub in Amsterdam about 10 years ago. At the time, beer was the one thing my taste buds were craving the most and the dark brew that I was served was the most refreshing and tasty I had ever tried up to that point. Factor in the exotic atmosphere of Amsterdam surrounded by my closest friends. Sadly, I don't remember what brand of beer that was.

I've tried brewing my own on occasion for fun, but I prefer to leave something as important as beer up to the professionals.

A few of the micro breweries around here say they can create "new" beers faster than they can think of good names to call them...

In Kent there is a brewery called Kentish and they have a brand called "Spitfire". For many years their advertising has been to make fun of the war, (something the Brits always seem to do, to annoy our neighbours in France and Germany) - they had adds saying "Downed all over Kent - just like the Luftwaffe", and "No Focke comes close"

I have attached a link to their website, as they have some pretty good interactive fun there, and I really like the "war era" feel to the site - very nice -

Spitfire Ale
Had a Skull Splitter from Orkney Monday night, and one is quite adequate to sip on for an evening, as it's 8.5%.

One of my dreams is to one day own a Scottish Island crofters cottage, and sit and watch a storm come in, sat in front of my peat fire, with a Scotch........Oh no......have I let another dream be known..........

If that were a Facebook post, I would open another account just to give it TWO "likes".

Hi VStarRider - not sure if your compliment is for KBB or the Crofters Cottage quote, (or both) but thanks from me anyhow......

To set the scene -
