Hi NBC - Yeah! Before I got into heavy metal drumming, I was an Air Cadet and played snare drum - and was taught by a Scots Pipe Drummer, so it was all good grounding for snare rudiments etc
Oh wow! That's not everyday stuff. Good for you brother!

I am hung up on that into.
Yeah - I was the lead drummer, with a little silver snare drum on my shoulder flash, and got to play all the solos. I started playing with the old leather strap and rope tensioners, and we were amazed to receive the new Premier rod tensioned drums.

Ah The Premier. An honost Brand true to England if I'm not mistaken. It's hard to keep track of all the makes and models.
First Chair! Dang! You have some chops.
I went to WSM for my music education. The Womb School of Music. Got my skills from my momma.

Wow! Very very nice. Mega chops are you kidding me. I watched it a few times and like it more and more. You certainly are very talented.
I have this little thing I'm making with my iPhone. I'm recording all my "tracks" on my iPhone. Stupid but passes the time. I have 15 or so guitar riffs, a couple of drum patterns and I am attempting to put together a bass riff.
Then my 16 year old says he can put it all together somehow and make a song. Oh my this is going to be a disaster for sure. But it will be a fun disaster at least.

Mate that was really nice to say - I was having an awful day "wearing my other working for a living hat", "rather than if things had turned out differently I might have been a rock star hat" - and it was nice to be uplifted by your comments, and reminded 35 years of drumming has added up to more than a small hill of beans!! Cheers mate!!

Your son is right - dependant on Garage Band, Pro Tools, Logic 8, Cubase - whatever he is using you can pull it all together into one seamless whole - I know with Pro Tools Beat Detective it will actually smooth out differing time signatures as well -so you could have a guitar track at one tempo, drums at another, and bass at another and somehow it morphs them all together.
I'm a very simple man Tim. Like one cell simple. Computers are not my friend. They are a bunch of bullies.

Mate - I am with you. I get the feeling like learning to ride a bike, the exhilaration followed by the panic!!
Film industry announced release of films while the film is in the theaters; theaters indicating that they will go out of business. It's interesting that the traditional film experience as we know is dying to the high tech age; six foot wall mounted recessed High Def surround Mega-Woofer 3D flat screen... or... watching the film in the palm of your hand during your morning commute with a cup of coffee. Who needs a movie theater?
