Very poignant to see the characters who play Steve Lane, Vince Phillips and Bob Consiglio, (who were all killed in the patrol, 2 from hypothermia, and one - Bob - who died from a single round to the chest which ignited a phosphorus grenade).

I have visited and paid my respects to these guys who are buried just up the road at St Martins Church Hereford, where most of the SAS are laid to rest.

Thanks, gonna check this one out.

Hi Rey - I had to search far and wide to get the DVD - "Bravo 2 Zero" is more widely known and available - with Sean Bean playing Andy McNab the patrol leader. "The one that got away" is the story from Chris Ryan`s perspective - from all accounts it caused a lot of bad feeling amongst Andy and Chris as it was felt that Chris`s remarks were disparaging of Andy`s leadership and Vince Phillips fitness and suitability.

I enjoyed both Andy`s and Chris`s books on the subject and both films - Apparently Chris managed to walk nearly 200 miles (in a few days) to escape capture.
I recently saw "The Time Traveler's Wife." It was a very cool sci fi chick flick, but not too chicky that I couldn't watch it and really get into it.
Anyone know if "McCabe and Mrs. Miller" is available on DVD? It is one of my top 10 movies. Julie Christie and Warren Beatty with a sound track by Leonard Cohen and directed by Robert Altman. Very sad and bootiful.

Just finished watching "Conspiracy" with Kenneth Branagh and Colin Firth and a host of other Brit actors about the meeting in 1942 at lake Wannsee in Berlin, to determine the "Final Solution" for European Jews. An amazingly acted film, (as you might imagine with Branagh and especially and topically Firth), but also appalling in the clinical and financial determination of how best to eradicate all of Europe, (including the UK) of Jews, and yet somehow either derive some efficiency or productivity from this process.
Assembled at the meeting where all the Department heads, Military Officials, Ministers etc, who could influence, and accelerate the "production line", the argument from those assembled not being about the abhorence of what they are doing, but whether it translated to the bottom line.
A moving film.
Apparently the film is based on the actual transcript and minutes of the meeting!
NWo - have you seen "Band of Brothers", the series from HBO?

Oh yeah, "Band of Brothers" is a good one, we have watched that entire series about three times. Usually like to watch it in the winter, because so many of the scenes have them in the cold and snow hiding in those foxholes.

NWo, I just finished watching "The one that got away" tonight, now I'm going to have to find "Conspiracy" too, sounds good.
