Hey Everyone,
I have mentioned before that I regularly cook for crowds since I come from a large family.
I was wondering if anyone else finds themselves in that situation and needs large, quick, GOOD recipes.
I have found a few resources that help expanding recipes for large volume purposes.
Here is a calculator for converting weight/ volume measurements-

And a good all purpose site for feeding crowds-
http://www.ellenskitchen.com/bigpots/index.html
Does anyone have good recipes that are crowd pleasers?

Ooh, thanks, I'll have to check those sites out. I LOVE having huge get-togethers at least once a month. I love cooking for people and having lots of people over to eat, drink, talk... Everyone has small kids too so my menu(s) have to be kid and adult friendly. There are also a lot of allergies to deal with so I try to be very careful when planning out dishes to serve. I found I either like to make a HUGE pot of lasagna/spaghetti/spaghetti bake and have a big salad and lots of bread or do a ton of small dishes.
There was one other site I forgot to include....

This is a recipe calculator. You enter all of your ingredients with the original size the recipe calls for, and it can do the math for you as large a quanity as you need it, double, triple, whatever.
A huge time saver.
Cujo's Cooking Club (I made that up) is meeting here this evening, and I must say that the menu is SMO-KIN!
I am planning on taking pics of the layout once it is set up, and will post the recipes as well.
Live it guy!
We never have much company....most of our relatives are out of state, and our friends usually are too busy for such things, but occassionally we coax a few out from hiding with a dish of BBQ wings or a slab of ribs.....maybe some of my wife's famous apple crisp, which, if she doesnt stop making it I might be gaining weight again. So far she has 6 dishes of apple crisp since week before Thanksgiving.
That looks like a great calculator though! I am just terrible at mental math!
Next Saturday my large family is coming over for dinner. 14 or 16 people so far. I'll be making a big prime rib and some salmon. Details to follow.
Oh... and my man cave has somehow turned into a winter wonder land.
And these guys are back.
