Draw the flies!

Now listen to me now.

Is it the power, or is it the glory?

Or is it the raw paradise? Cinderella Scooby Doo?

Well can't sleep....my oldest daughter informed my wife and I she is leaving in a week for Phoenix, Arizona. No job no home nothing, except a promise from her cousin's boyfriend they would have a place when they got down there. I guess dad and her finally agreed to disagree. This is one of those times where its a bit like watching two freight trains barrelling down the tracks at each other. You know there is going to be a big crash, you are powerless to stop it, and all you can do is pull up a chair and watch the collision. Wouldnt be so bad except she is leaving before Christmas.

Maybe dad really fornicated the ol dawg this time.
I would be awake with worry over something like that. The timing stinks too.
Ah truly that is heart breaking. I would hope that she reconsiders. And stay a couple weeks until after Christmas passes? But that idea would probably seem offensive to anyone who has their mind made up. I'm here for ya pal.
I couldnt even sleep. Spent half the night staring at the clock....tick tock tick tock. Quit Pro Quo.

And today is our office Christmas Party, and they want ME to be Santa. Wonder where Ebeneezer is?
Good luck with Santa today, Boomer! That really sucks about your daughter. Her timing is horrible. I am always here....
Well thanks guys n gals. I know at some point she was going to jump out of the nest anyway, but her and I have differences as many fathers do have with their children. At some point you cannot protect them any more. As much of a bummer as it is, she has to learn to live on her own. Maybe this will be a good thing, but as a father trying to protect his young uns....its one hard pill to swallow. Now the blame game has started, and guess who is getting all THAT love?!?!?

I have my trusty Canon digital camera here at the office so I'll post a pic or two of the happy santa today.
We hear you on that Boomer. It's hard to let them go and fly their wings.
My mother cried when I moved out. Later I heard from her friends that she mourned and missed me for months. I was her only child, so it hit her rather hard. However, due to financial issues (my hours at work were cut in half) I moved back in with my folks again 9 months later. I will say though that moving out did help me grow up a bit.

I dont look forward to that day either. As my Mother says, "your kids are always a worry to you, until you become one for them"

The house will be very quiet (empty) when they move onto University, (if they choose that route) - my wife was 19 when she moved in with me, we thought we were so old and wise - and yet my eldest daughter is 15, so we might be contemplating her moving in with some highly undesirable rock drummer like her Mum did in 4 years time!!
