I like onions all kinds of ways, but raw would be my fave. A slice, some salt and pepper, and life is good. Did I mention a Fenway Frank with mustard and onions is sublime? Yeah, I'm from Bawstuhn. Oh, and a cheeseburger with a slice of raw onion, salt & pepper, and a bit of hot sauce. Why am I doing this to myself at 9:00am?
I love raw onions on my burgers and on my pizza. Green peppers are wonderful!
But then I am in the wrong thread to say that I love something.............
I only like the sweet onions raw. I love them caramelized...yum.
I could do without green peppers. I'm like you, Nettie, I only buy the red, orange and yellow peppers.
"Ahh go budda ya onions!" I made that up when my kids were bugging me over something. Left them speechless which in itself was a feat.
On wasting tax payers money.
Please. If a hundred motor scooter riders without helmets bonked their heads and became a burden to the tax payers each day, it wouldn't even be a drop in the bucket compared to the precious tax payers money "blown" for lack of a better word by spoiled lawyers turned politicians on perks they don't often even notice.
Any medical need stemming from an accident, preventable or not, deserves compassion and all the help possible. Cost doesn't matter when it's your kids, and I can make an argument showing how no one is worthy of anything from anyone when it comes right down to it. I call it a useless argument.
In reality, our choices have an effect on those around us. Some of us will choose to burden those who care for us and others in our communities. A by-product of living in a community or social structure.
The rewards of that relationship is always greater, and so things like someone hurting themselves in a manner that can be called foolhardy can and should be absorbed by the community in support of those left to carry the weight rather than some connection with dumb dumb who won't wear a helmet.
It's always smarter to plan for the worst case and enjoy the great luck you've had never to have to use it.
Big brother injecting itself into the daily affairs of the common folk is always an injustice. With freedom comes responsibility though a small portion of the population is naturally irresponsible. It's natures way of cleaning the gene pool.
onions, we were on onions....
We have to keep trying to divert Nettie. Don't give up!
The noise that flip-flops make is one of my peeves. I like the convenience, but dislike that slapping noise, especially when I walk into a quiet room, like a library. It's the squeaky-wheel-shopping cart of shoes!
Well talking of tax payers money......specifically US tax payers money......Am I right in what I saw on the news the other day, that the US is 14 Trillion Dollars in Debt?????

And technically as likely to default on interest payments as Greece????

I was amazed, and a little worried....
Sorry it is not a pet peeve but Jetrow`s post on drops in buckets made me think of it....
Our "leader" is going to fix all of that....
<SNORT!>
Good luck with that one as we say.......
This is going from "Pet Peeves" to "Major Irritations" lol.
