Wow...that is a good car. Glad she wasn't hurt.
Quote:Volvo S80

We drive Volvo`s "Boxey but good". Tan and the girls had a 7.5 tonne lorry smash into the rear end of the S40, the whole rear end crumpled - everyone fine, and we drove the volvo home. The lorry was a gonner, enging hanging out and all smashed. That`s why we both have V40`s now - as the sales man said, there are more airbags, side curtains, etc than a bouncy castle company....

That's an excellent piece of advice and one I used a few times while shopping for cars with Daughter #2 last year. She was very disappointed when a few deals fell through, but thrilled when we finally landed her a good car. She calls it a grandmother car (2002 Volvo S80), but didn't have a scratch on her when a car T boned her at 40MPH on the driver's side!

I'm glad she's ok!

Thanks RN! She was a bit shaken up, being her first accident, but walked away fine. We had exceptionally high snowfall in Massachusetts this past winter and the snow banks were ridiculous. She was inching out of her high school and couldn't see past a massive pile of snow. BANG! The snow pile was knocked down the next day, but I'd told her to take pictures of it after the accident and the police officer also wrote "Couldn't see past snow bank" in his accident report. Both will be necessary when we appeal the insurance surcharges.
Good luck with that! Insurance surcharges are no fun at ALL! Sad

Tell me about it! I just lost a speeding ticket appeal when there were major inconsistencies and problems with the officer's stop. Now I have points to deal with. I'll tell ya, with 3 cars and an 18 year old driving, insurance companies are bleeding me dry.

Thanks Bageleth! Those Swedes make dang good cars.
My pet peeve today is contractors who say they will call you back, and hours later, still haven't!

Or any corporation for that matter. I was double charged at a sporting goods store for my purchase. The amazing thing the charges show up 3 weeks apart for the exact same amount. I have only been to that store once....grrrr.Angry
Even the Post Office won't call you back when they say they will! I filed a claim about a lost package on Monday and was told "We'll call you within 2 days." Yeah. Sure. Undecided

As a retired Postal worker (Quit THROWING things at me!) call them back and be a squeaky wheel. It's the only way you'll get any answer. Don't take it personally--they've had to let so many people go, that those left have to fill in and don't know all the various jobs.
