Don't tell me not to talk shop. I'll talk it all day and night.

don't you guys "argue shop"? Pretty clever huh

So what about those who are not fellow lawyers, who "talk shop" in order to get some free legal advice? Is that less of a pet peeve, more, or about the same?

That would be less of a pet peeve because I don't mind trying to help and I don't mind answering questions if I am able to. I love what I do. I would be upset if someone chastised me for "talking shop" while I was trying to answer a question for someone!

I am sorry you had a bad experience. Most of us are working our asses off for our clients.

Whahh? Whah I say? Lol. I have kinda odd humor. It's an upstate NY thing
But.....
And there are some really really good pizza makers, but there are some seriously foul ones too.
Some of my closest buds are DA's and defense attorneys. Nothing but respect for them and there difficult efforts.
But I got the Mr. "hold off till last second guy, ie: lazy" And it blew an important case for me last week that has some serious conditional implications.
A bad pizza maker Boomer.

Certainly not grouping all lawyers with my bad experience. I work with some great ones. In fact, one of my clostest friends is kicking me for not hiring him. And I agree, the work is a total commitment.

Hey - anybody who has their OWN business, runs it efficiently, and still has hair left at the end of the day totally ROCKS! I dont care if its a law firm, a photographic studio, or a coffee house, small biz folks are the best folks in the world to deal with. You're tops in my book Holly!!
I think poor ol' NBC is suffering from NY-itis! Maybe you should try this italian restaurant I found in NYC in 1984 in Queens - they served the BEST raviolis.
LOL you guys. Understood - I *ROCK*! ha ha
