Just crossed my mind, and may even have been discussed:
Did anyone partake of the SS Professor Tour a few years back?
A chance to stand up close and personal with the R30 kit and meet Gump, who told wonderful stories about working on the road. I even won a poster!
That's really cool.

Bought the new DVD. Haven't had time to watch but will soon.

I had a great opportunity to play drums for the annual Birchwood Intermediate School Rock n' Roll Holiday Show! It was a blast. I played simple but nailed the feel and kept great time. "When preparation meets opportunity."
I have watched Taking Center Stage at least a dozen times and have walked away with an armful of new ideas. I have had a bunch of 'ah-ha' moments, and 'oh that's how he did that' moments.
I love the feeling of when my lightbulb starts to flicker! Feels good.

This DVD makes lightbulbs flicker big time, just sayin'
Last night Joe (my bro), Gio and I watched the first part. Very cool moments of drumming. I like the slowed down versions of some of those beats and fills. I also appreciate the time Bubba takes to explain his thought processes, though I got the feeling that Joe and Gio were getting fidgety at certain intervals. At one point Jobee refers to a metaphor and Bubba gives another metaphor for the original metaphor so my brother states "I just love it when there's a metaphor for the metaphor!" to which we all laugh hysterically. You had to be there. It was classic.

Thanks Bubba, you really made us laugh "good."
Soooo, I didn't know where to put this, but this thread seemed liked the most relevant place:
A picture (which I love on too many levels to articulate) I saw in a coffee house just down the road a piece....

The aforementioned java stop is owned in part by a musician (drummer) named Mickey Grimm. As of October 2009, Mr. Grimm holds the Guinness Book of World Records for "World's Longest Drumroll."

5 hours, 20 min.

FIVE HOURS TWENTY MINUTES.

Ouch.

I don't know fer sure, but I'd guess it's Mickey's momma in the picture....
Wow. That takes determination!
Does anyone else know about drum records? Would that be drum records or drum records? In any case do you know of any?

For example:

Largest drum kit ever

Smallest (playable) drum kit ever

Most shows played by a drummer in a lifetime...ever

Least shows played by a drummer in a lifetime...ever (that would probably be me)

Longest double bass pedal roll...ever

Ugliest kit ever (that's entirely subjective but I'll bet they're out there)

Most expensive kit ever made...ever (Did Liberachi play drums... ever?)

You get the picture.
