This sounds good JrGtr.

I think what track shall we try to do? We can stretch ourselves, (and stress ourselves), or just do something we are happy with - it could be the ultimate session event across the US!!

Any ideas for which track - I agree with Vince a cover is easier (as we have a reference point to work to), and also KBB as it "can be whatever we want"

I am pretty sure that most recording software can take wav files, which I suppose means carrying forward the "mix" from the last take to the next, thus final "mix" will pretty much be defined by what has gone before - in other words we wont have Terry Brown sat in Toronto tweaking a little more eq into the vocal track - but so what - imagine the Grillers, what did Vince call it "TBBAGB", being able to chuck something out there?

Kinda me too...I am a jack-of-all-trades wannabe: drums, keys, guitars, bass, synths, flutes/recorders, ethnic instruments like Gu-Zheng, hammered dulcimer, etc. I am an equally-terrible at ALL instruments because I spread myslef too thin. But I could provide the instruments and pour the scotch.
I've been "hitting things with sticks" (and hands!) since the 5th grade, and was in one band or another until about 13 years ago. How's about, since there are more drummers than anything on here it seems, we do a "drum circle" with guitars, bass and keys added to the mix?! I don't have all the recording equipment you guys do (yet!) but I'm working on it!
I reckon seeing as we have quite a few musicians here, perhaps we ought to do a couple of three tracks - thus everyone gets to play something on the Bar `n` Grill Sessions Album...

So I supppose we need to pick three or four tracks we like, and allow people to pick which one they would like to play on, etc?

Some fairly straightforward ones to play, (from a drum perspective) might be -

Fool for your loving - Whitesnake
Alright Now - Free
Don`t Believe a Word - Thin Lizzy
Smoke on the Water - Deep Purple
Rock and Roll - Led Zep

These are only some of my suggestions - they might not go down at all well with other Grillers, so lets here what other people are thinking of.....

Thinking of Keys / Synths the above I think have some (Whitesnake, Deep Purple), so maybe we need more?
If we do three, it would be nice if one (or maybe two) are Polka Trio numbers.

Do any of them qualify? ;-)
OK Doke KBB - Name your poison from the threesome.
I thought this was a "family" thread?!Wink

haha - I seem to remember we had a discussion about a "menage a trois" on another thread might have been wines as I think there is one called this........or erm, it could be another site I frequent ahem

Any road up - the threesome mentioned refers to the Three Amigo`s from the Great White North.......

As in the Polka Trio. Yes. Indeed. Dodgy (It's all my fault for making that comment about CBD, isn't it?)

I'm willing to go with a consensus, particularly as there seem to be a lot of you who know some of the more (dare I say "popular"?) tunes, so it makes sense to select something that you musicians are happy with.

Perhaps those who want to participate could post the pieces (maybe to a max of five?) they are most comfortable with, and see if there's one that we all sort of look at each other and say "yeah, that would work."
Easy guitar/vocal/keyboards:
