I lamented that "I had to do all of my work and half of her's." How ignorant I was for so long. I thought that putting my dish in the sink was this great sacrifice, and commended myself for "helping" once in awhile. I didn't have a clue! My thinking has shifted. Now I realize it's part of "my job" to shop, unload, prepare, serve, and most importantly clean up. I don't look at who's doing more. When I see it needs to be done I try to just step in now-and not just what I feel like doing. I've been getting tremendous satisfaction in seeing it through to completion. Cooking and cleaning truly is an act of love.

Shush! OMG! That's the #1 man rule. OMG! Do you realize how many generations of men have kept this a secret. GEEZ! We're screwed. Sad

Secret??! Puh-leeeze......we wives have known for YEARS that REAL men aren't afraid of a little veggie choppin' or toilet scrubbin' (or my fave, baby bum wipin'!!)

But don't worry, we won't revoke your Man Card for admitting to such "acts of love." Wink
Man card? What the....???

I already do all those things. That man ego stuff went out with the diapers and the child birthin.

Yes, Boomer-Man Card. Us women-folk punch your card every time you do something like help in the kitchen, pick up after yourself, etc. When your card is full, you're issued a new card and you get your free prize. Smile

Don't worry-it makes you MORE of a man, not less.....
Oh.

I must need some proper edumakation - cuz I thought being a husband meant doing those things to begin with. Well....for the most part. When you work two jobs....its a little hard to do everything.
I think I know who has been in my magazine collection.
:DThat was funny. Dated, yes. but still funny. Big Grin:
I hate it when I unload and then reload the dishwasher and my wife gets upset because I put a dish in the wrong spot. Grrrrr.

I know how you feel. When I am home at night I do the dishes because my wife is an outstanding cook. It's the least I can do after a great meal. I even do the laundry and I enjoy it. BUT she will not let me clean the bathrooms anymore because and I quote "I do not a clean them like she does".
