My mate RN has started up the Schnapps thread, so let me know your thoughts on it - The next problem will be probably trying to find some over here I guess.
Mrs B loves me! Somehow this ended up in the grocery basket today. It was either this or Laphroaig....and The Macallan won out. Woohoo!!!

Congrats on the Macallan and a happy Belated Father's Day to you and all the other Dads here at Bubba's.Big Grin
I finally got my greedy mits on a bottle of Talisker 10 yr. yesterday - 'hard to find that stuff! It was about $60 at BevMo! plus the palm-grease those tyrants in Sacramento tacked on - a respectable base price I suppose.

The flavor seems roughly halfway between Laphroaig and Lagavulin to my taste, but I'll hastily add that I was dog-tired by the time I tippled last night (I have today through Monday off for Independence Day and my Birthday, thankfully,) so my "amazing powers of observation" were not so amazing.

"'Like it lots; worthy and righteous!" is about as good as I can do, pending a more conscious and careful appraisal. This break has been sorely needed. Literally - I nearly broke my thumb a coupla weeks ago playing not-so-softball, so a proper anaesthetic is called for too.

I also noticed that the local Von's has Laphroaig 10 yr on sale for ~$35, so I'm going to have to snag some of that immediately if not sooner.

What a great bottle to have in your arsenal!! I'm jealous. I think it's a very smooth, easy to drink single malt; wonderful stuff. Are you sharing? ;-)
