I'm back from the U.P.(of Michigan) and the celebration and chore list.
The feast was minus two chefs, both under the weather.
so there were 3 of us, and enough food to feed a small army.
But it was good.
Oh, and minus 3 Labrador retrievers(they belong to one of the chefs) who most certainly would have stolen something from the table....and given us an ill wind later.

I'm glad that you made it home safely. Did you bring us any leftovers?

I love the UP eh. Any snow up there?
Greetings ladies and gentlemen (*you too Mufasa!)
I have returned. Lets just say it was an "eventful" week. Lord willing I will never have another one like that ever. Lets just say that everyone in my family thinks THEY are the Alfa Male....even my sisters. All I do is step back, watch the arguments, fill my plate and my stomach, and sleep on it. It took three glasses of Balvenie to get my stress level to subside, but thankfully, we only suffer thru one of those kinds of weekends a year.
My wife is making our own little feast today, but its just her our daughters and I - far less stress.
Good to see your smiling visage once again mon petite flower.
I am making my own feast today, as well. No other family, so no added stress

Pie is done, turkey is in the oven. Now on to the potatoes, stuffing and other sides. I hope my family is hungry, because I always make too much.
Oh goodness - thats not a problem around my house. Turkey just went in. No pie but apple crisp. Whoever said girls dont have an appetite havent met MY daughters.
Glad to see you back Boomer! I'm sorry to hear that the trip wasn't that fun. I had a family with similar issues, years ago. It didn't really make me anxious to visit them.
We're just taking it easy today, snacking on leftovers, and introducing ourselves to the world of "SpongeBob Squarepants" (just seeing what the fuss is about)
Spongebob couldn't keep an audience here, so now "Jonas" is on tv.
It happens. I am sure a lot of families are like that. I just dont like driving 400 miles to walk into a hornets nest because my brother, aka Cousin Eddie (from the movie 'Vacation') has everyone all stirred up. Thought we had done away with all that for this year.
