Pretty much the same thing. Looks good!!

Mmmmmmmm......Smile
Scythe, I think my arteries are hardening just looking at that turkey! It do look tasty though!

Happy Turkey Day in advance to all my new found friends here at the B&G, it's been fun, educational, and filling, emotionally and gastronomically! We're having another couple and two single friends with nowhere else to go over for the gluttony, probably end up putting in on of da' boyz DVD's just to keep you all in close perspective! (Aarrrrrgh mateys!) Have a good one folks, I now have something else to be thankful for this year...all of you and the "Double B's" too!
So many words come to mind looking at that turkey! Let me stop laughing...
from artistic-love the weaving, to just plain weird! I bet it tastes pretty yummy though Tongue
heres a quick sweet potato idea for you yammers out there.
shred a couple of yams
finely dice and saute a medium sized onion
acquire some fancy hot mustard, one with horseradish, about a tablespoon
mix all the ingredients
in a greased muffin pan form the shredded mixture into each cup to form a nest
bake at 400 for about 35 minutes or until crispy
Remove from pan and let cool
meanwhile peel and cut up a couple more yams, boil till tender, add butter, nutmeg, cinnamon, a little honey and brown sugar then whip together till smooth.
If you have a piping bag use a star tip and fill each potato nest with a nice rosette of whipped yams. If no bag simply spoon in the yams. Return to oven and bake till peaks of the potatoes start to brown.
This simply adds a little flare to the ever-so-dreaded sweet potatoes that the kids are forced to eat. They will want to eat them simply because they look neat, they are tasty too!
I'm staying at my house for the holiday and my family is cooking up:

-turkey (duh)
-REAL cranberry sauce
-homemade vegetarian stuffing
-cream of pumpkin soup with curried pecans
-sweet potato biscuits
-stuffed mushrooms
-homemade clam dip
-ice box cake
-and MAYBE homemade butternut squash ravioli.

Yum!

Awww, although nothing beats good old fashioned cranberry sauce from a can, like Grandma used to open, especially if it retains the shape of the can on the plate, in all its gelatinous can shaped goodness. Wink
