Nettie - could I buy a round of drinks tonight? - looks as though I am going back on contract, after a 5 month break. Nice to be earning again, although I wish my money came from drumming, and not management consultancy.....

The address I gave him was the Anthem contact of SRO in Toronto.

Is that the best place to send fan mail to get it forwarded to Neil or is there a better one to use?

Good on ya guy! Im sure that one book has done more for folks like your neigbor than we would like to think. I might suggest the Anthem address is the way to go especially since the tour is kinda winding down. Pegi is usually pretty good at forwarding that kind of thing.

As far as I know, or take a chance sending it to a venue. I doubt though that your friend will hear further, there must be tonnes of letters, gifts, whatever, and impossible to reply to it all, unless they hired a P.A. to handle correspondence, but that would defeat the object I guess......

I hear ya NWoBhm. I expect that it's the writing of the note and sending it that carries the cathartic value beyond the book. I think it touched him and he just wants to express that rather than to instigate some dialog with Neil. Good point you raise and I can't imagine the amount of mail these guys get.

Thanks Boomer and I quite agree it must be a wonderful thing to happen upon where someone you can respect as an intellectual and talents aside, down to earth guy articulating some of the feelings one might have on a level of someone who has been down that road.

I know that I feel a lightness when someone "gets me and where I'm coming from".

Thanks for the tip and I hope he gets the benefit of letting some of those thoughts and emotions out to help him move forward.

Now with a good deed done, I surely deserve a treat and I think I will go blow my allowance and paper route money on a bottle of The Macallan. If you don't hear from me for a couple of days...
send a bucket of ice. Wink
I would have to agree, that it's a very good book for anyone who has lost someone close. I could certainly relate to a lot of those thoughts and feelings that he had. That first year after a loss always is the hardest and basically sucks. So when you read about someone else's account, it helps to know that you aren't the only one who felt that way, and it's ok to feel that way.

Well congratulations on getting the contract. Good to hear things are finally going your way. Wink

When someone is buying the round of drinks, you will find that I suddenly appear (usually hungry too).

I could use a drink myself.

Congrats on the new gig NWoBHM!
Jetro, nice job on helping your friend out there.

I'll just grab some chips and a soda on the way back to the computer. I'll be stuck there quite a while, doing grades.
