IKR [teen-txt for "I know, right?"] N'awlins?! I've been tryin' to order a Guinness for the last 45 minutes, but haven't seen hide nor hair of the barkeep. Perhaps they should open a new wing at The Bar.....hmmmm.....The Annex? The Patio? Rumpus Room?
One Guinness coming right up!!

This place is self serve after lunch.
Also,after breakfast.
Sometimes, after dinner.

You have to have the key to the fridge though. Don't you know where we keep it?
Cupa' tea please, Earl Gray.

(Sigh)

Haven't been around very much last little bit. You probably saw our adventures of Respite Care last week. Two little boys, nice little guys. Had them here for seven days, other than being food picky they were fine.

(Sigh)

I got a call on Wednesday last week.
Our Case Worker.
We have been chosen to go to comittee again, Dec 8th.
For a family group.

Four.

We are only going up against one other family, so our chances are 50%. Usualy they pick three or four families to take to comittee.

We read the Case Worker summaries for the kids, and we waded through the psych evaluations last night.
I didn't read anything that scared me, but the kids are dealing with a lot of grief and loss. There will be lots of counciling. Lots.

Am I up for four? Can I do four? We said we'd be willing to take up to four.

(Sigh)
You can do it HWG! That is quite a handfull though, 4, depending on their ages you may have both hands full! Good luck on the comittee, that must be one tough group to face, even with your stellar credentials. Hoping all works out for the best for all involved!
Hwg , as an adoptee myself I must say that what you two are doing is probably the most selfless and admirable act I can think of !! Whatever you decide w/ the four children... I get the feeling any or all the kids you take home for "keeps" will be very lucky! You have my deepest respect and I am honoured to be here in cyber-Bubba land with you. Bear
I still have my set of Jarts in the original box. Blood stains too.
What a concept. Half pound finned, sharpened lengths of stainless steel to throw at each other!
My cousins and I had sooo much fun with those!!! Everyone stands in a circle one player hucks his jart in the air as far as he can, everybody runs like hell to avoid being impaled!!! What?? there were instructions on the box.... fer wut? Ohhh.... maybey thats why my head hurts from time to time?????
It helps if you play them in the snow. Then you can see when they draw blood.

HWG: How old are they? If they are all little people(under 6) it would probably be easier than if they are teenagers. It just depends on what you think you can handle.
