I need a "Sleepy Time" chamomile tea to sleep tonight. I think I drank too much coffee today!

Been a sad, somber day...I'm going to pour a few out for da homies and then have some for myself. Sure hope things get better from here. Undecided
Hey Vincent, I think I'll join you in a cup of Sleepy Time. It's going to be a busy couple of days for me, and my mind is buzzing. It's report card time!
A toast to Andrew...from all I've read today, a truly generous, humble, and gifted man who left the world much too soon. Prayers to all who knew and loved him...
Raising a glass of The Macallan to Andrew. So heartbreaking.

Slainte', Andrew! Thanks for the pictures and for introducing your assistant to your friend.
I got the 15 year old Fine Oak. It is amazing. (Concentrating on moderation.)

We just finished our bottle of 15-year. Went down smooth Smile
It's just by chance...everything according to some. I don't buy it.
We're all interconnected in a special way though it may seem random at times.

Nettie, I totally hear ya on the grades. It always seemed that there was something left to grade before you could factor the averages. On top of that you always have to find the right comments that might not result in a phone call or worst... a call to your principal.

I sometimes can be easily misunderstood and there are some very sensitive parents! I generally had few problems because I really thought about what I wanted to say/convey and how it might be interpreted (unlike my blogging sometimes).

The printed word at times can be interpreted multiple ways. At work e-mails get people into trouble because the reader assumes a certain inflection of tone that might not be the intent of the person typing.

My formula for doing report cards was...

A hot cup of something

Rush or Dave Matthews Band

Solitude

Not having anything left to grade (I learned not to give a test or quiz the week before grades were due)

Not staying up too late to do it (just added frustration)

Everyone has their own method and it's all good as long as you hand them in on time. I could never get the people who were always late with it, holding up the process for everyone. That used to really p off the principal and main office staff.

The little people get graded on rubrics now...S, P, or N. The computer averages the grades...then I go back and fix those that need it.
Yeah, not having test the week that grades are due would be nice, but we have weekly Math and spelling tests, so I couldn't avoid that this time.
I agree that comments are the most difficult part, and that is what I'll be spending most of the day on tomorrow!
But not today. Today my house is the venue for a grand baby shower for my niece!
and I have to bake a cake yet!
Whew, what a month!...I'll have a pitcher of Bud Light with a tequilla chaser there if you please bartender! And who put those big white Sweet Tarts in the urinals?...they sure taste funny!Big Grin
