((Yawn))
Taxes done and time for bed. Some chamomille tea is in order.
Time to drag myself upstairs.
The kids are in bed, so it's time for a glass of wine and another rerun of "The X-Files"
Good one 2Beers! Gotta love those resale shops!

Speaking of thrift stores, that reminds me of a funny thing that happened when we visited a small town in Colorado last summer. Lori and I were walking up and down the main street, looking through the shops and antique stores, when we went into this one that was less an antique store and more of a regular resale shop. Just inside we noticed this really strange individual. He was unshaven and had longish, unkept, disheveled hair. He had on dirty sweatpants and a dirty t-shirt, and wore a backpack that was packed pretty full. He had a whiff about him, and was obvious he had not bathed in quite some time. He looked to us like he might be a homeless person, and he kind of had this crazy look in his eyes.

We went past him and on to browsing around, but we noticed he was very intently looking over this old artificial Christmas tree. He was very interested in it, closely inspecting its branches, checking its height, standing back and looking it over as he rubbed his whiskers. The tree wasn’t in very good condition, it had seen better days, plus it was summertime, why would someone like him be interested in a tree, right now? Only he knew, but he wanted it. We saw him talking at length with one of the store’s employees. We couldn’t hear what they were saying, but saw the tree buyer wave his arms around very animated like as they settled on a price.

Not finding anything we liked ourselves, we were ready to go by then. We made our way to the front door but found the Tree Guy there blocking it. His new tree would not fit through the door, and he was angrily trying to push it and work it through. This went on for some minutes until he finally got it out, leaving a few branches behind in the doorjamb. He then proceeded to pick up the tree, and started lumbering down the street with it in a very comical way. He had this strange walk, where his feet were pointing too far to the sides, and he wasn’t moving over for anyone. People had to make an effort to get out of his way and get around him, the tree being held sideways and blocking most of the sidewalk, and as they passed they would turn and do a double take at him. The best part was that every few feet or so some branches would fall off of the tree. He would take no notice of this and he would just continue on, leaving little green piles of branches trailing behind him.

So I said to Lori with a smile, “Hey, lets follow him!” so we did. We were out for a walk anyway, so why not. He went the entire length of the downtown area, leaving the trail of branches behind him, and he just kept on going. We grew tired of following behind him and eventually we sat down at a sidewalk café. I kept watching him, and he kept going and going, still dropping branches, until he was just a speck and then I couldn’t see him anymore. Where was he going? Why did he want the tree so bad? I do not know, but I do hope that when the time came around, he had a very Merry Christmas with his tree, or what was left of it, he worked so hard to get it.

Hey Rey.......I match that APB....

Great, if not weired, story though...Now I can`t get Dan Ackroyd out of my mind in Trading Places, wearing the Santa suit and stuffing a side of Salmon down his trousers, while gnawing on a Turkey thigh.......
Classic people watching Rey. 100 points to you.
That's a great story Rey.

Plus illustrations, so he can prove it!
