That seems excessive, doesn't it? I had a bottle of vintage port for my fortieth birthday that was the same age, and I think we paid $150 for it. Tasty stuff....
Nonsense - this is a wine, from the Premier Cru of Bordeaux, hand crafted after the Nazi Horde had been pushed back by gallant US, and UK troops - there can be no finer surely??
Would I spend $114K on one - I like to think I would, but I bet "old sensible head" will say no......

I can think of other things to do with that sort of loose change: don't get me wrong, I love wine and am reasonably knowledgeable, but past $500/bottle, I'm not sure one can say there's much of a difference.
(And I checked: that bottle of port we paid $150 for a few years ago has pretty much doubled in value. I bet it's worth it too!)
I am sat here quite sad.....as I acknowledge I wont drink a 45 Mouton Rothschild.........do you think reverse psychology works with God?...........nah........nor me!!

Well we just shared the bottle, didn't you get some? Oh sorry if it missed you, it passed around pretty fast. Actually, it tasted kind of funny, like it was too old or something. Did it have an expiration date on the bottle? I don't know, maybe we should drink something a little fresher.

um, we're not going to restock that, k?
I am sitting here, having a celebratory glass of wine, and I can already feel the buzz (yes, I'm a lightweight).
Don't worry, I have a designated driver. I'll just sit in the corner and wait.

Did you save me a taste of that old stuff?
