Yes it was a real warm one over the weekend around here! Saturday evening, after a long hot day, I could think of nothing better than a "nice, cold beer". Having spent the day at a WWII event I was wearing my American Class C khakis, and my friends were still in their German uniforms, which was a bit of an odd combination to be riding around together.
We pulled up at a local small town tavern, but my friends were reluctant to go in because of how they were dressed (ha ha). They wanted me to go in and scope it out first to see if it was safe. No worries, the place was already full of other reenactors from the event, and they were playing 40's music too. That "nice, cold beer" really hit the spot and went down smooth!
I can only imagine at what the locals thought when they walked in and saw the patrons present that night...
As long as I'm here at Bubba's Bar now, I'll have another that tasted just as good as that one. Sometimes its the circumstances that lead to the drink that make it taste better.

Feels like Paul Bunyan's sock drawer! Personally relocated (no internet yet), store is in the throws of moving (next week - finger's crossed - lotsa logistics), took two weeks to help a buddy drive to UT/WY and back to get his son at college (a week ahead of the Bhaha - sorry I missed you), multiple house/pet sitting jobs, out-of-bookstore events (ex: Mental Health conference - hello!), not complaining, just insanely busy! I jump on Bubba's when standing on one leg eating lunch at the Toad and now it's time to hit the stacks again. Still gotta score my tix for the opening show in NH. I'd happy dance, but got no rhythm and am exhausted! How's that?
