Entre Nous! How are you! Big Grin
You are quite the rebel there, Rey!
Rey! That's an awesome story! Wish I had been riding with you. That would have been cool! Except I probably would have blasted into the side of the squad car, not being able to stop and ended up in the slammer.
Great story Rey - my misses (before she was my misses) was travelling home one day on the back of her boyfriends bike, when on a cold and misty night they decided to take a short cut down a closed road. He opted to switch his lights off so they would not be detected, and off they went.....right into a concrete bollard......he compound fracture of leg, she broken pelvis.......lucky one of the workmen (working on the road) heard the crash, (they were working a little late), as they might have died of shock.
As Bubba would say..........."working them Angels"......
Quote:There is some history behind the ploughmans lunch, too which is fairly interesting - but NWo might know it better than I do

I always thought it was literally a lunch taken to the fields where the farm labourers would be working, (ploughing, etc), along with a flaggon of ale or cider.......However researching it seems it was a marketing invention of the 60`s to promote and sell more cheese, by the milk marketing board. I personally dont think that is right, farm workers since cheese was invented would have had that and bread in the fields......maybe the concept of pickles and meat and calling it a lunch was the marketing bit.

Another story of cheese...the UK taste for cheese has lead increasingly towards strong mature cheeses, and they reckon it is a result of all the curry we eat, (apparently chicken tikka is the most consumed UK meal), and this has damaged our taste buds, and we therefore require stronger cheese to get the taste....

Well, I do appreciate anyone who takes the time to read the story (whether they like it or not). I know it is a long post, and not everyone has the time to read through it all. Also thanks to Nettiesaur for making a place to have a drink and tell a tale or two.

A snail goes into a bar, and the barman throws him out.....

Three months later the snail goes back into the same bar, goes up to the barman, and says,....

"Why did you do that?"

Sure! Looking forward to it, I'll be here, all ears.

Really a story can be written about anything you want, go with the current theme, or branch off on your own. Only thing is that it takes time and effort to write one up, but the readers here at the grill seem appreciative (or just polite) so far. Lets have some fun with it.Wink
Hi, Bageleth! I'm better, thanks! Every time I thing I've got the cats herded, the ducks in a row, and have minded all my P's & Q's, it turns out...I haven't! LOL

Working on a virtual Rumplemintz and hot chocolate, and stewing over a tale to tell here in the Bar...

And you? How's everything?
