New drink called; Osama Bin Laden...2 shots and a splash of water.
I heard that from someone else, at any rate other than that I won't talk ill will of the dead... it's done, that's it. There's evil in every shawdow and beyond and I have no time to pretend there's any higher power or perhaps we wouldn't always be knee deep in it.
But you said that there is evil in every shadow and beyond. So isn't that pretending?Smile

Maybe a bit of "Freewill" exploited a much darker shade of grey on that bright sunny morning in 2001.

As for bringing the troops home finally and this being a blow to terrorism...we'll see. I'm sorry if I seem pessimistic about this, but I will keep my fingers crossed.

My USMC son did 7 months in Afghanistan last year. He's going back there for another 7 months in July. The consensus is that it will be much worse this time around, and they will have even more restrictions on them. With the few stories he's told, it's a wonder ANY of our guys survive. The enemy has no rules and our men have too many.
Typical military thinking....not the first time I have heard that the rules are getting tighter. To me - when I read about losing another young man in this damn war it never ceases to amaze me how many lives we could SAVE by letting our guys engage when they need to....and not limiting their responses like we do at time. Hope your son stays safe GW!

Ditto, on the safety thing GW.
My cousin's (marine)son has 10 days left, and I'm sitting on pins and needles. I'm sure my cousin knows, as I do, that many people have been lost at the end of their tour(and also at the beginning of a tour of duty), and this is his second tour.
I'll breathe when he's back on U.S. soil!

Thanks, Boomer and Nettie. We have to trust in their excellent training and try not to think about what the bad guys are doing--not to mention trust in God!
Prayers for your cousin's son, Nettie Heart
