My Grandmother's recipe, best I've ever had.
1 cup of berry sugar 1 pound of butter Do not use margarine, margarine is evil, margarine is poison, margarine is... a topic for another thread.
4ish cups of flour.
Put sugar on a flat working surface, place butter on top of sugar and allow to come to room temp. Now it gets messy. By hand work sugar and butter together until well mixed, continue to work mixture while adding flour a bit (1/4 cup) at a time. Mixture should not stick to your hands when it is done.Roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness, I have a couple of pieces of wood I use to ride my rolling pin on to help me keep the thickness consistent.
use cookie cutter or knife to cut into shapes (not too big)
bake at 325 degrees until they start to turn golden on the bottom.
