Hope this finds you and Monica feeling better today Steve, and that the good days out number the bad ones as you progress. I saw where Brutus has postponed his trip for a little while, but being the Trooper he is, you know he'll make it with big hugs and best wishes from all of us here at the B&G!

Yesterday afternoon I was down in the basement trying to clean up while listening to some sappy, emotional music on the radio. And then I thought of you. I know we have never met, but I have seen your picture here on the forum, and have read of your ordeal, so I pictured your face, and imagined the struggle you are going through. When Steve mentioned the “t” word, what came over me, as Neil wrote so well, “I felt a shadow cross my heart”. It is my sincerest wish that it will get easier for you, that things will get better for you, and at that moment someone you have never met is standing there in the basement rooting for you.
But then another song came on the radio, an uplifting, inspirational song that has always made me feel really happy when I hear it. Maybe it will work for you too? I know during this struggle you will have some bad days, like Steve has described, but also I hope many good days when you are feeling well and things are looking up. On these days may you have as much fun and joy as you can, and treasure the moments you have with your husband. There is a line in this song that I love so much, “These days you might feel a shaft of light make its way across your face”. I consider this line the literary opposite of Neil’s quote above, and it is my wish for you Monica that this warm light may shine on you.

A couple of years ago a friend introduced me to a DVD of two fellows, Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor riding motorcycles around the world. They made a DVD of their travels and called it Long Way Round.
Well, I was totally taken with it. One of the reasons was that they enlisted the help of The Stereophonics to provide some of the music. And this one is my favourite.
