The local news station plays songs in between breaks, this morning it was James Taylors' "You Got a Friend"...started thinking of you guys (Monica & Steve) and got the goosebumps! I wish I had time to pull up all the lyrics and put them here, but you know the words! Hum a few bars, and put on a big smile 'cause you got LOTS of friends! Hugs and prayers!
Got a message today from The Quilt Lady:
I'm thinking the quilt will be done by Tuesday, Wednesday at the latest. I will send pictures as it comes along.

Those are beautiful quilts! I'm amazed that she can sew those so fast!
Steven & Monica, you're in my thoughts & prayers today and I hope that today is a good one!
Just had a look at the quilts via your link SM. Wow, does she ever do amazing work. Monica just had a look also and is so excited. She might of mentioned to you before, but she always seems to be wrapped up in some kind of blanket for about 10 months of the year so the timing for this couldn't be better, what with fall and winter coming on.
We still can't believe that you are doing this for us - thank you so much..
Just a quick update on Monica, without going into the gory details. She just finished up her 3rd week of chemo, with 1 week to go before going into a 2 week break. - although it hasn't been easy, it looks like whatever they are doing is working at attacking her tumours. Because her cancer has metastasized into her liver, both lungs and abdominal wall she had one tumour on her side that you could actually feel (I'm guessing this one was one of the ones in her abdominal wall) and I might be imagining this (but I don't think so), but it appears to be smaller and not as hard as what it was
4 weeks ago..
I'm sorry, I know I'm rambling, but we are both so excited at the possibility that this might actually be working...
Wishing everybody a great week...
Stephen & Monica
Onebadss.... the thought that the treatment might be working is WONDERFUL!!! That would be so awesome! Sending positive thoughts your way to you both. HUGS!!!!!!
Be positive Steve---it's not MAYBE working---it IS working

Great news, Steve!! That is so wonderful!
Monica did tell me that she's always wrapped up in a blanket! And that she makes beads. She and I can collaborate on some jewelry in the near future.
I spoke with Sara today and she had just finished getting all the messages onto their squares. She also managed to make one with Bubba's crown logo - yay! It should be to Brutus in time for him to deliver it to Monica his own self. She tells me that she found material with beagles, even!
I also did some reading up on herbs and spices that help blast tumors. Parsley has an ingredient called apigenine that prevents new blood vessels from forming and feeding the tumors. Rosemary and thyme will help chemo drugs work better. Turmeric has been shown to shrink tumors - it's the primary ingredient in curry.
Hugs to you both!
Just got an email from Sara with this picture attached:
"It will be layered and tied tomorrow,
then I'll get the binding on it. Hand finishing the binding takes
some time."

That is beyond the beyonds outstanding! Stay strong, both of you! Keep it up!
Oh my goodness:
That quilt looks so awesome - Monica will be spending hours wrapped
up in that I'm sure...
It's funny how looking forward to the little things in life (although this isn't
a little thing) help to keep you going with something to look forward to
around the corner.
Thanks again SM - it looks wonderful!!!!
