Save the surfing lessons for Kauai. Kona isn't very hospitable to surfing newbies, as there is a lot of lava rock along the coast. We've watched the locals catch a wave, ride it to within inches of jagged rocks and then turn it around and go back for more. Scary! You both might want to give para-sailing a try: really nothing to learn and you get an awesome (in the literal sense) view of the west side of the island.

That is gorgeous!! I love yellow on the right car and that is the right car! nothin' like a big slobberin' big block chevy! The only problem your going to have with that ride is keeping rear tires on it!

Oh Heavens, when Mr.2Beers catches a look at those pics I'm expecting to hear all kinds of OOooohhsss and Aaaahhhhhs and most likely be drooling as well.
