My husband lived in Coeur d'Alene for many years. He said folks from Kelowna used to come over all the time to party big time. He said they would be so polite....He also said you have a "Flintstone Village" there!?!?
Anyway, hugs to you both and I'm glad you get some recoup time!
Hey Onebad70ss, talk about geographically retarded?!...I didn't realize Kelowna was so close to us until Gunga mentioned Cour deAlene! Of course I had to Google map it and was suprised to learn you guys are only 255 miles from us! For some reason I was thinking you were much further east, but sadly, I've never been to Canada so I'm not real up on where the different cities are.Undecided

Maybe this summer when you get that SS all fired up and ready to go we can hook up for a road trip? I've been dying to get ol' "Betty" out of the garage and hit the western seaboard...maybe go over and bug Scythe and Ren Man?!Big Grin

You have a great weekend, and give Monica a big hug for us!Heart

Alas, Flintstones Bedrock City went the way of the "Doozy Dodo" bird in 1998 I think, in favour of some movie theatres and a strip mall. At least one of the businesses in the new complex is a microbrewery/pub named "Freddy's Brew Pub" in honour of Mr. Flintstone himself.

P.S. - Congratulations GW on the news of your new Grandbaby...
How sad. Something that had character (literally) being replaced by a generic strip mall. Bubba has opined about this in his writing and I think we all are on that same page. What a shame.

There was a Jellystone Park in the hills near Redlands, CA. At least it was there the last time I was in 1976. No idea, now.
It was a number of things that brought the end to "Flintstones Bedrock City" in our fair town. The land was just too valuable to keep a theme park open and show a profit. I think the place was only open maybe 6 or 7 months out of the year so it was very seasonal. Also I heard that there was some legal issues with Hanna Barbara so it probably just wasn't worth the trouble to keep it open.

You had also mentioned SM that the actor from "John Carter", Taylor Kitsch is from Kelowna. Might see a little more of him around town, I heard that movie tanked pretty hard....

Thanks Big Guy.......
Well, Monica and I just got back from seeing the Oncologist for her scheduled 6 week review (my how time flies) and things are looking a lot better than they were 6 weeks ago. They upped her chemo dosage last time and it seems to be doing the trick. The only drawback though is that the last week and a half or so of treatment she is wiped right out, but the way she is feeling in the time in between it's almost like a real "human being"
(her words, not mineSmile )

Her next schedule, has her only doing chemo for 3 weeks instead of 4 partly because it is working so good and she needs her strength for the Brewhaha
in Wisconsin which is just around the corner...

Pretty happy right now..
Cheers:
Steve
FANTASTIC NEWS! So happy for your...hapiness! Rolleyes

Great to hear that things are working well enough that she'll have a respite prior to Brewhaha....can't wait to finally meet y'all face-to-face! Big Grin
How awesome is THAT?!?! Great news for you and Monica! Heart Big Grin Heart
