Well, I'm in the planning stages of my CA escape ride. It will go as follows so far: I will be heading up thru Duluth, MN north to Grand Marais, MN for the 1st day of travel, then into Ontario and Northeast from there. The possibility that I may be doing this ride alone is definite as the Missus may not be able to get away from her job at that time. It is a bit exciting already, as I will be doing this ride the last week of August. This is to give my wife the chance to be able to go along in her cage with both our dogs so she'll have some traveling buddies.Rolleyes

The bike goes into the shop this weekend to get the new chain and sprockets put on it(my plan to trailer it up to a friend's house fell thru...no trailer.Angry) Then in March the seat gets sent off to be reupholstered by guys that upholster dual-sport bikes to make them more long distance tuckus friendly. I am going to be priming/painting and mounting my pannier rack(custom made by my best bro, thanks RodSmile) after my bike gets back out of the shop so's I can haul luggage if it turns out to be a solo.

I am also going to be taking lots of photos this trip and will try to post a link(knowing how bad at that I amBig Grin). I will update plans as I figure them out. I will keep it fairly loose as I did last trip i.e. planning next day's destination each night. I know that if this trip ends up being a solo, it could prove quite interesting(gonna try not to Work Them Angelstoo hard).Wink
Ride safe man - keep us posted! got my own plans for this year forming, not quite as ambitious, but lots of riding planned.

The best part of the Grill is making plans like this and sharing them with folks who get it! Thanks!
Sounds exciting! I assume you're gonna be shunpikin' it most of the way? Can't wait to see the pics! Smile

l`ll be super slabbing the 1st day, but after that l shall do my best to Shunpike it thru the Provinces. I shall of course be keeping my personal journal...as well as The Macallan.Wink
Take good notes...I want to ride across Canada too someday... Smile

I'd love to have Brutus be my tourguide for some of it though! Big Grin
l`ll do my best. One of my preparations will be to take an advanced rider course at my local MSF facility(community college). I want every bit of instruction l can get before this trip.I`ll also be hitting the Western bluffs here in IA in some sort of hal-arsed attempt at backroad riding.

I would also like to do a ride with Brutus as guide...I can only imagine all the cool places he could show.Big Grin

I`m also in the very, very early stages of planning a ride West for next year. This one will definitely be sans wife as I`ll be stopping at one of my brothers to see him...and she doesn`t get along. Its a loooong story l`d rather leave alone. There are places in Idaho, Utah, and Northern California I`d like to take a looksee at, sayin?
Yee haw! Too exciting! Big Grin Cool Big Grin Cool
