Don't want to discuss it too much here of course (that band forum thing), but anyone else here run big speakers, with lots of low frequencies, and have their whole chair, house shake during that one part on track 4? Like right at the 58 sec mark. That is very strange, that can't be a normal bass guitar, can it? My easy chair felt like I needed to insert a coin...

That note reminds me of the Brown Note episode of South Park ... Very funny.

I certainly no expert but it reminds me of the intro to Signals and thats a Keyboard-y kinda thing not a Hit or "pluck" kinda note. Could it be the Taurus Pedals we know are back? I suspect it is but not sure. Its hard to play CA LOUD with K and Mrs. C around, but I had a chance yesterday and I heard it in several songs, though not as prominently as the one you mention.
I know this is A LITTLE off thread but I about spewed my ice tea all over my desk a minute ago.....one of the local radio stations is playing the BAY CITY ROLLERS right now. OMG what memories that brings. Transistor radio, white earpiece for headphone, ice cream samich in one hand, headbanging down the street.

Wow.
