Rediscovering some Hawaiian music. Learning some on guitar - after working on Lerxst's stuff, it's a breeze! This is one of my favorites:

Like many Hawaiian songs, it compares...um... intimate acts with nature. Here's the link to the lyrics: http://www.huapala.org/Ka/Ka_Uluwehi_O_Ke_Kai.html
Good stuff! I like the Led Kaapana/Bob Brozman Hawaiian CD.
Rediscovering some of my old 80's Eurotrash Faves - The Cult, Bauhaus, Cocteau Twins, Ministry, YAZ, Dead or Alive, Milli Vanilli (just kidding!)

If you like Bauhaus, you should like Peter Murphy's solo stuff.

I am listening to skate thrash punk today. Suicidal Tendencies.

There must be sumpin' in the water...I'm on an 80s bender, too!
New Wave-y schtuff...I've got one of those compilation CDs loaded on mee iTelefono...Oingo Boingo, ABC, Erasure, The Smiths!
Also revisiting an oldie but goodie...Roxy Music's "Avalon." Such gorgeous, dare I say *sensual* sounds! Rolleyes
"Avalon" - Great production. Roxy Music live is terrible.
Funny that you mentioned ABC and Roxy Music in the same sentence.
I set out to mow the yard the other evening, I like to time it as the sun is going down, so I can watch the sunset as I go back and forth down the rows. It's getting darker earlier these days, and I must of misjudged, as it got very dark before I was done. But I wanted to finish and kept at it, could hardly see what I was doing anymore in the black of night, and I can't imagine what the neighbors were thinking. I started humming an old R.E.M. song, way back from their first album in 1981, called "Gardening at Night", I hadn't heard that one in years, but it seemed fitting:

All of my daughters and her friends music this weekend. Until I broke out the Master of Funk, the Atomic Dog himself - Geroge Clinton and the P-Funk Allstars. And yes I did have the flashlight.
Stopped at the supermarket last night-ran into Dream Theatre's John Petrucci And had a nice conversation- I used "meeting a rock star" protocol which was " be cool, regular and don't ask for a stupid autograph."

Then we chatted again at checkout-what a great guy and talented shredder! I invited him Sunday to check gio and me out...he lives local...

St James, NY not far from me.
Dang! I only run into neighbors at my market!

Good random event there, VU! And good behavior too!

(My favorite good behavior story in that kind of situation was mentioned by Bubba in one of his books when he described a waiter who took great care of him (I think it was at the Greenbriar) and only at the very end did he write something nice on the bill indicating he had recognized Bubba from the start. But he was very cool and never made a fuss, asked for an autograph, etc.)
