Burma: "saunter down the aisles and sing at the top of my lungs (hip sway and grand arm gestures included, natch)."

You do that to Barry Manilow songs, right?

I am constantly amazed at the selections I hear whilst browsing throughout...Talking Heads..."Huh?" Roxy Music..."Whaaa??!"
A few weeks ago I just about lost it when I heard the first strains of Billie Holiday's "Lover Man" being played. It took all fiber of my being to *not* saunter down the aisles and sing at the top of my lungs (hip sway and grand arm gestures included, natch).

Hey Burma!
My store isn't quite as cool!
Do you know the Billie tune "That Old Devil Called Love?" It is my favorite by her...

Narp! Just a regional grocer's chain based outta St. Louis ("Sloo"). From what I've heard, seems Whole Foods would be far too spendy fer mee pocketbook!

Not quite familiar w/that one. During my college days/daze I had one of those "Best of" Billie (cassette!) tapes that I played in heavy rotation. I DJ'd a jazz show at the univ radio station and I'd sneak in some of my fave tunes to close out my show; "I Cover the Waterfront," "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "Don't Explain," "Fine and Mellow," amongst others. Cool
Doing the quiet "Zen" thing listening to the artist called Gandalf(no, not the wizard) while I'm making some chocolate chip cookies for the Fire Department crew. Tonight is one of their work nights, which means doing chores or repairs or whatever is needed to be done at the Fire Station.
I'm listening to hockey. Does that count? Big Grin

At least they were not playing "walking on sunshine"! I actually heard Calling Dr. Love in the grocery store. Best time I ever had shopping for food.
I am listening to the new Yes album, "Heaven and Earth."

I like it.
Cinderella Man

Turned my daughter onto "Farewell to Kings."
Listening to King's X, getting ready for work. Here's a taste for ya'll.
