Man, that is all new to me...I need to do some research...

School Food Punishment - holy ****!

'Been a long time since stumbling onto a band that makes me feel like I've stepped onto an alien planet or maybe Lando's sky city (that synth solo at 2:00...) I'd tuned in to one of my fellow J-rock broadcasters to hear something new; I'd heard of SFP before but never really listened; 'went to YouTube to look for more and was duly amazed.

It's a tad more jazzy than I'm used to and it's keyboard rather than guitar-based, but their bass-drums grooves are uniformly crazy. I feel like my brain is a better, richer place after listening to this stuff. 'Going to be scarfing up their whole back catalog at CDJapan when I've recovered from the Christmas binge, and the station'll have some new blood... Holy ****!
.
This is my favorite Christmas song ever. This includes the very rare extended introduction, with news coverage from the front lines. A World War I story:

Merry Christmas everybody.
I ran quite a few songs through the mini-speakers this past weekend as I refinished kitchen cabinets in the garage...lots of cool tunes but the re-recording of Camel's The Snow Goose was the most satisfying. (They re-recorded the entire thing...I wasn't sure i liked it on the first listen a few weeks ago but I really liked it this time around.)

It washed those Christmas songs right out of my hair!
I'm Enjoying the day listening to Jane's Addiction-Nothing Shocking. This is the album that made me change the way I listened to music completely.

Whoa, you need to 'splain that to us, Smoker Guy. How did it change the way you listen to music?
Soundtrack to "Guardians of the Galaxy." Looove the movie...and I'm a sucker for those ol' skool jams!

Well, I was mainly listening to thrash metal by the time Jane's Addiction came out. I was stuck with that harder, faster, louder mentality and getting a bit bored with it all. Then I heard Jane's Addiction and was impressed with the way they incorporated metal, funk, jazz, alternative all together. Here's a 2010 live version of Three Days from the album "Ritual De Lo Habitual". It is looooong:11:50 live, http://youtu.be/Ds_mAJ5OKzE
Fascinating. I will check out the track. Thanks!
