The friends I'm house-sitting for the winter have a Donvier ice cream maker that I dug out when they left me with a big bag of Meyer lemons, which, with the addition of several limes, made the most incredible sorbet, thanks to a recipe I found online.

Now, despite the fact that it's cold and snowy here, I've been mulling over what else to make with it.

I downloaded the manual from the interwebs, so I've got those to start with, but except for the French vanilla ice cream and the chocolate gelato, there's nothing there that turns me on.

Anyone else use one of these and have some ideas?
Think drinks. Cool, creamy, "warm 'n' fuzzy"-inducing libations....Cool

The only thing that comes to mind is a frozen screwdriver, which certainly has some potential. Rolleyes

I've also got a mickey of green creme de menthe that I'd like to use up, if I could figure out how to make some kind of awesome sorbet or something with it.
Sorbet was the first thing that came to my mind, but then, after burma.girl's post, I thought, brandy slush!
Iced coffee!
slushes for smoothies!
They've got one of those seriously awesome Miele built-in espresso machines -- my Sunday mornings are filled with cappuccinos! -- so something with coffee is a definite possibility.

Recipe?
espresso sorbet
close enough? You have to scroll down a bit to get to the recipe.
Idea Ooooh, that's got potential! It might take me awhile to crank up the machine to make 2 cups worth of espresso, but it would probably appreciate the workout. (Like driving one's vehicle at high speed on the highway instead of just poking around town, right?)

Thanks!
Made the espresso sorbet -- wow!

Had friends over for an all-Canadian Polka Trio double-bill movie night, and both the movies and sorbet were a big hit. :-)
Sounds like a good match-up, KBB Smile
