Cherry Wheat on tap, goes great with many foods. Spinach salad.

I had the Sam Adams Cherry Wheat once on a stop over flight to Cali. It was a nice treat.

Hmmmm..I could go for a Bell's Double Cream Stout, or some Chimay...how about a nice cold Guinness to top it off.

Steady dear.....you know Guinness turns me into a wolf.

Ah, beer.....Chimay is great, most DogFish Head brews are tasty, and Stone's Pale Ales, IPA's etc rock, but this week I'm sticking with the local Sweetwater IPA brewed here in Atlanta, GA. Best if gotten on draft at the brewery during one of their tours, but a six-pack will do in a pinch.Big Grin

Well I've got family coming over for supper and stopped at the store and picked up a mixed 6 pack of New Glarus beers. Some Fat Squirrel, Snowshoe and Moon Man are the beer "on tap" here tonight.

'Can't settle on just one, but without a doubt my all-time favorite; the one true, deserving designee of the term "Nectar of the Gods," is a blonde ale from England's Wychwood brewery with an unfortunately and deceptively-bland label: Wychcraft Ale. I say "unfortunately" because Wychwood's other beers - Hobgoblin, Goliath, Fiddler's Elbow, etc. - all have nifty cartoon characters on their labels. The clueless types who typically do the stocking at local stores apparently pick their stock from a picture book, because they always have Wychwood's lesser creations, but rarely the Golden Elixir of Saporal Sublimity that is Wychcraft.

The next select few on the faves list:
  • Samuel Adams - I'm amazed at how thoroughly and consistently I've come to enjoy this beer over the years. Always great;
  • Anchor Steam - also somewhat difficult to find; always worth the search;
  • Guinness Stout - when I can't find any bread to eat;
  • Full Sail IPA - unlike a lot of IPAs, Full Sail's has a light, crisp citrusy flavor to balance out the bittering hops spectacularly. This stuff taken from an ice-cold glass is mind-blowing; if you can have it with California Pizza Kitchen's Chicken Tequila Fettucine, doubly so. But as with any IPA, you must be in the right mood for it.
  • Space Cadet's Mahogany Rush IV - this is my own concoction, though I haven't brewed in a few years. A very dark, very strong, very Earthy ale, also a fine industrial solvent.

I replied to this thread some time ago. But I figure that it's time to do so again.
There are always great beers coming out, and my tastes evolve slightly over time.
For everyday beers I do still like to stick with local breewries, and there are a bunch of new ones coming in or will be coming into
production within the next 6 months or so. (I'm just outside Boston, MA)
However, I do still like stuff from outside, too. I picked up a bottle of Founders Kentucky breakfast Stout yesterday, I got some Kate the Graet from Portsmouth Brewing (the brewpub affiliated with Smuttynose Brewing,) and I have tickets for Dark Lord day at 3 Floyds in Indiana. (all 3 are fantastic Imperial Stouts)
I got a couple bottles of the new Sierra Nevada / Trappist Monks brew, though I haven't tried that yet (sometime this week)

Any right now. I'd kill for a shot of Jameson and a Harp chaser. Wasn't near as bad an alcohol craving with the first pregnancy. The only thing I crave more now is hot wings. These babies like the spicy!
