I played my Strat relatively clean and he used brushes. We were just not in the mood for loud music. I wrote it on acoustic guitar so I don't want to amp it up too much (except for climactic sections). It's almost done. We added a nice "C" section in 5/4 which it really needed. Some of the guitar parts in this section reflect Alex's style but overall it's simple. We're almost ready to record it, but I have lacked the "umph" to really get serious about it. There's always something else going on. I think you'd really like it, so I will eventually record it. Gio helped me again realize that at 44 I probably won't write and record a famous song (though I am convinced that if i write a silly Holiday Song-think Grandma Got run Over By a Reindeer-I could still be a one hit wonder with nice royalties) and that I should write and record anyway. It only seems meaningful if it is written FOR someone. Like a gift... I recently was asked to do a painting for one of the offices where I work. Doing it as a gift for someone who might appreciate was enough motivation. It really came out great. I'm hoping that eventually I can finish the song and post it here(my gift to you). I wrote it over a year ago and can't seem to move on to anything else until this is done, so I HAVE to finish it. Hope you're having a nice tour, witnessing the birth of a new spring as you travel about! Listen man, as of right now I'm not sure I can make the show on 4/10. Of course, as always, I'll be thinking and praying for you on the bike and around the "crazy, wierd and unconfortable ones". As muchg as it's work and you'd rather be with the ones you love, I know you love the adventure and being a rock star. Who wouldn't? Hopefully you're like the WHO that tours at 70 every few years, but maybe you decide to finally settle down with the occasional SUPER BOWL reunion. Now THAT would get me to watch sports! Once again, as frequently done, I digress. Enjoy yourself so much as if this were your last tour (even though we know it's not).
