RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here... - Boomer - 05-14-2011 11:28 AM Ok so I am a little late to this one but hear me out. Some of us, me included, have our own blog, or diary, or whatever you want to call it. In Bubba's case, his NWS column is just about the most anticipated breath of news I can read. What he shares with us - his lowly minions, is truly nothing short of heartfelt emotions that we all go thru and experience. But - I also believe that Bubba, as I do, gets some amount of self serving satisfaction and therapy from putting into words what he - maybe even what we ALL feel, from time to time, whether its frustration, happiness, sadness, whatever you feel, in the words, and pages, of his column, his books, his Book Club, whatever he decides to pen. In my own way I write in my blog as a therapeutic way to deal with all those frustrations and emotions from this li'l thang we call LIFE! My family has said many times that they see now what I am feeling what I see my ups and downs in life, and tha they can respect me at a much higher level than before. Bubba is no different. Consider this: when you write something. A thank you note, an email, an article - you are communicating something to another person in some way, but in Bubba's case he is telling us, whether by word, image, or act, how HE feels, what he goes thru on and off the stage. Sometimes its therapeutic just to put those things into WORDS, get it out off your chest, and maybe communicate with those who love and respect him (thats important!) and in many ways get those things off HIS chest so he can move forward to the next challenge, the next ride, the next lyric or song. I am almost finished reading his latest book, and even though many of those are a reread, the way they have been put to print this time around really makes me love and respect him even more. Just knowing that he is out living his life, that he is a testament to just sheer dogged determination, will, and superior dedication - that he answered my prayer for him, well, thats just flipping groovy to me. If I ever can thank him, I'd like to think it wouldn't be as one of those nutcase psychos Michael gets to deal with, but rather just as a friend, fellow biker husband father and nothing more. Believe me after reading this latest book - he has had about enough of those rubber room bandits! It was that great feeling of something new to read, and everything stopped as you read it cover to cover. So when I see Bubba has posted some news I look forward to a glass of wine and a good read......and it reminds me of those times. While I respect and enjoy Bubba's music and writing, it's his humanity that finds resonance most of all for me. And, if I'm reading correctly, for you. While I'm not a biker, father or husband, I like to think that I'm a fellow human bean.
RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here... - NWoBHM - 05-17-2011 01:38 PM Well T Shirt from all of us at the Bar `n` Grill to Bubba was posted off today to the Birmingham gig. Tan has taken a pic of the shirt so I will post one up here when the pic has been download to the PC. I am not sure it will get there, or if it does and Bubba sees it, we will ever know about it - but I have done my best. RE: You KNOW that Bubba's on here... - Mufasa - 05-17-2011 04:10 PM I am sure that if Brutus knows of this, he will do whatever is withing his power to see that Bubba gets the gift.
