I think that when he receives it, he will be very amused and honored.
People believe they know something about a celebrity based on what
they read in the press or see on the television -- nothing could be further
from the truth. I believe, however, that Mr. Neil's way of communicating
with the "Fans" is through his books. Although he is an avid reader,
nobody forces him to write his novels. It is great that he has chosen to
share his life with the fans in such in intimate manor. Books are so
revealing that they truly tells more about the individual in a way that
the media and even his music could never fully portrait him (let's face it,
we could easliy listen to the entire RUSH collection while reading a single
novel).
The shirt is a great idea !
Must definitely he will wear the shirt at some point -- his way of saying
thank you.

I'm guilty of passing on a thank you gift myself, but I always hoped that it wouldn't come off similarly to the six pack outside the door.
Makes me wonder what other kinds of 'gifts' have been passed along over these decades, both weird and wise, appreciated or dismissed?

I wrote to Bubba before at the Brum NEC back in `92, and he did reply to that - about nine months later - I think he must have parcelled everything up, got home from tour and set about replying to people.
The note was personalised and responded to my note to him - so was not something mass produced off a PC - but it was at the time when he could do that.
So I was lucky once before with the NEC, but I am not sure if we will know this time around.
I have sent other stuff since then, via some of the people I know (sort of) at SRO, a guy I know at Sabian, and not heard anything - so I am not holding my breath as we say - although this is something from ALL the folk at the Grill, and no one individual - who knows?

Oh, you don't know how much better that makes me feel. I sent him a thank-you gift last October by way of Anthem. They let me know in January that it had been forwarded to Bubba. And I've been a nervous wreck ever since. Now that I know it may take him quite a while to get to things, I won't worry quite so much that it's sitting in a Post Office somewhere between Toronto and L.A.
Thanks again, for doing the tee-shirt. I love how it went from a stray comment to "I wonder if..." to "here it is" to "I got it". Fantastic!!

It`s no worries Scottish Lass - I hope we can all hear/see/whatever the outcome - although as I said earlier chances are not high we will.
How did the Glasgow gig go?

Glasgow gig was fab, great gig, great folks, they looked like they were having fun (Bubba smiled!
) and the crowd were singing along. Wonderful.

Funny to think that Bubba is about 30 miles NE of here at the moment rockin` the Brum NEC.
I wonder if the shirt made it.
I saw Brutus tweet about the wind, which has been strong today - I wonder where they will be stopping tonight. Cotswalds maybe? Or back into South Wales for some excellent riding fun.....
