I woke up to a Tsunami warning on the news for our coastline because of the earthquake in Japan. It's not like we don't have enough wind and rain here, now the folks on the coast have to evacuate in a rainy, slick area. The coast is about an hour and a half drive west from me, so we shouldn't be affected at all.

Yes, just when I think I have plenty to complain about, I am suddenly very thankful that I am not waking up today to an earthquake and a tsunami. I feel bad for those people. Sad

I don't know how extensive the damage is in Japan yet, but we have heard from those who have relatives living in Japan and so far they're ok. The Tsunami hit Hawaii probably within the past hour and we haven't heard any news about that one. I'm hoping that the one due for our coastline will just be a slightly larger than usual wave.

The pictures coming out of Japan alone are enough to make you hug the postman today. I saw one video of the tsunami just eating up villages whole. Then there was the guy on that boat watching the whirlpool.

As long as you arent sitting in Seaside Bagel you should be fine. If the water gets high enough to reach you - look for your nearest ARK!

RE: The Weather Thread - Bageleth - 03-11-2011 09:49 AM

I'm not worried about my location. It's not a day to go to the beach though.
I've been waiting for that ARK to come around just because we've had so much rain lately. So far, I'm thinking it's parked somewhere else and the "NO VACANCY" sign is on.

Well Boomer...she's called "Angus" for many reasons. 1.She's all black like an Angus cow. 2.She weighs 835 pounds(dry). 3.It's our 1st bike since the crash we had on our other bike "Zoot" and as Angus Young says " back in black".
