RE: The Weather Thread - RN-PRN - 03-20-2011 05:22 PM It's sleeting outside
RE: The Weather Thread - Rey - 03-20-2011 05:54 PM Pretty exciting weather day around here today. Spring thunderstorms kept on rolling through, one after another. Heavy rain, lightning, booming thunder, and two separate hailstorms too. The power flickered on and off, but managed to stay on. Watching the hail come down out the window, I watch some guy drive onto my front lawn to try to get under my tree, I guess to try to protect his car. How rude is that? What an idiot. Had the scanner on to listen in on the police and fire channels. Lightning strikes caused two structure fires in my town, one a garage, the other a house. Some flooding from the pouring rains had people stranded in their cars in the parking lot of the local library. The water was reported to be up their car’s door handles. Yikes. They had to wait though, all personnel were too busy with the fires going on. Thought it was clearing up, now I hear the rumble of thunder again… -Rey RE: The Weather Thread - 2Beers - 03-20-2011 05:58 PM Pea to marble sized hail falling now along with Nature's light and sound show. RE: The Weather Thread - Boomer - 03-20-2011 06:05 PM Nice and quiet here. Tranquility Base here....no eagles though. RE: The Weather Thread - RN-PRN - 03-20-2011 09:16 PM Thunder rumbling in the distance...time for me to pack it in and hit the hay. I love thunderboomers and listening to them as I fall asleep. I awoke last night to the sound of thunder How far off I sat and wondered Started humming a song from 1962 Ain't it funny how the night moves
RE: The Weather Thread - Bageleth - 03-21-2011 10:38 AM The air here is starting to have the Spring feeling to it. Still a bit of rain off and on. I went out and bought flowers yesterday for my front porch. I love to have flowers out in the Spring! RE: The Weather Thread - nettiesaur - 03-21-2011 08:08 PM It was a nice day today, cloudy, but in the 50's. It was a perfect day for a trip to the Zoo, which is where I was all day. The little people were wonderful today. RE: The Weather Thread - Laffitupfzbl - 03-22-2011 01:36 AM Yeck, 70 degrees is almost too warm for a pregnant lady. I got three furnaces going. One thing I HATE about Spring - living in poor neighborhoods. I've lived in them for the last 6 years since I divorced my wealthy husband. I started out poor in life, but one thing I got used to and loved while I had money: Rich people are QUIET! Poor people are darned loud! Neighbors across the street got a puppy and they leave it tied up outside all day to bark. Finally come home at 9pm and take the dog inside. 2am: Awakened by their LOUD CRAPPY MUSIC! Called the cops and now I am WIDE awake. Sheesh. It's gonna take every bit of self-restraint I have to not go over and bang pots and pans on their porch at 5:30am, see how they like be awakened out of a sound sleep. Not to mention the multiple loud fights on the street have started up again. Poor people+Spring=Noise. ANNOYING! RE: The Weather Thread - RN-PRN - 03-22-2011 02:58 AM Winter storm warning for later tonight through Wed night. Could have a half to one inch of ice...this is going to be interesting!! |
