Accuweather Update Exclamation

"There is the risk of very powerful thunderstorms, some with strong tornadoes, over part of the central Plains into the Midwest Sunday.

The atmosphere is winding the spring a little tighter this weekend, but when the force is unleashed a major outbreak of strong tornadoes may be unleashed centered on Iowa and portions of neighboring states Sunday.

As the storm finally rolls out from the Rockies, some sunshine and daytime heating of moist air will make the atmosphere ripe for supercell thunderstorm formation.

Senior Midwest Weather Expert Rob Miller is very concerned and stated, "Multiple, strong tornadoes may unfold."

"This is the type of setup that can breed wedge tornadoes of EF-3, EF-4 strength," Miller said.

People in the area from central Wisconsin to northeastern Texas are at risk for violent weather Sunday afternoon. The greatest threat for tornadoes may set up in the northern half of this zone with Iowa possibly in the middle of this threat area.

"We could be looking at a dozen tornadoes or more in a several-state area," Miller added.

This could easily go down as a top-five event of the season as far as the number and strength of tornadoes are concerned.

The storms will continue to progress to the east Sunday night and Monday, carrying the risk of life-threatening conditions and the potential for extensive property damage."

Sounds good, looks like you may be between the storms this time. West of you they are warning of dust storms, because of the dry drought conditions and high winds, especially on Sunday. Who knows, might even get an old fashioned Black Blizzard out of it.

Our windows are open and enjoying the fresh air coming in, and the cat is having a lovely time checking out the squirrels and birds while he stretches out on the window sill.

It was a beautiful day here, with a high of 84 degrees. I hope everyone in the area on two wheels had a safe day.
Storms are approaching though, and I may have to get offline soon.

Yes, it was a very nice day. I spent some time outside cleaning up the yard a bit. Very windy though.

The severe weather threat, which was centered towards me in northern IL yesterday, was moved to the north this morning, to mostly Wisconsin. As of right now there have been numerous tornado warnings in Wisconsin, but they have been mostly in the north central part of the state. I am under a tornado watch here, but there is nothing near me yet. So we shall see what the night brings, but I'm keeping the weather warning radio on.
