I AM CALM! Oops.....I am reminded of a line recited by Colonel Sherman T Potter in the series MASH when he was having problems with high blood pressure "The next person who is nice to me is gonna die with boots on - MINE!"

But I know they love me otherwise they wouldnt say anything.

On a real note - listen to what they are saying. I have have experience this first hand with my dad.

Hey Boomer, glad you're on the mend. Will you be taking time off to chill?
100+ in NH today (not gonna happen here!!).

The only CHILLIN I am doing is INSIDE the office - although things are pretty decent now because of some rainstorms just west of here. I just have to make myself not get too awful excited. Its kinda hard to do when you run a business, work for a government agency, two older daughters, blah blah blah!

Kinda nice though hearing from my business associate that he is more concerned about my health than how I am coming on a couple of small platting projects. At least maybe I can take some stock of my body and make some changes in my schedule so that I can have some relaxation.

I work the night shift and I am also under a lot of stress - but I have a new favorite quote " What cannot be altered but must be endured" Take care.

You're no good to your family on a slab, my friend. If not for yourself, for them.

Boomer - make those platts like the old Mad Magazine cartoons where you fold the picture in half to make another (goofier) picture. Stress-free!

Meanwhile, up in the Pacific Northwest... If you count "summer" as temps being 80 or above then we've had less than an hour of summer so far. If you count it as 70 or more, we've had less than a day. Undecided

June is usually schizophrenic, but it's never gone on into July like this. Not since I moved up here in 1984, anyway....

Having thunderstorms today. Woken up this morning at 4:30 am with quite a windstorm, lightning, thunder, the works. Just had another storm a few minutes ago.

Keep hearing this very odd sound. Its sounds like an enormous drum being struck outside. I remembered hearing the very same sound during the storm associated with the power outages.

Heard it two or three times today, just stuck my head out the door and heard it again, like a very large metal drum being struck in the distance.

Maybe some unusual form of thunder? Or maybe the sound of oil filled electrical transformers bursting due to lightning strikes?

Weird.
