RE: The Weather Thread - Phillip - 09-16-2011 10:30 AM Here in the upstate cloudy and 60 degrees. Dropped 20 degress from yesterday. And it feels so good. RE: The Weather Thread - ladijules - 09-22-2011 08:27 PM It was about 75 here in Central NY today.. with a low of 65 tonight. Supposed to be like that all week. Last week we had a low of 36 and frost on ground. Alright had to light up the wood stove! All the leaves are beginning to change color. Very beautiful! RE: The Weather Thread - Scooter Britches - 09-22-2011 10:42 PM Definitely getting to be fall here...leaves are starting to turn. It's dark when I leave the house in the morning. My mesh jacket is too chilly to wear in the mornings anymore too. I heard someone had frost on their car just west of here. I'm expecting snow before Halloween. I'm not going down without a fight though...starting plan road trips for late Feb & March...anyone want to go to Death Valley or Daytona Bike Week? I'm going to both!

Last year it was nice but a few years ago, we had two feet on the ground at the end of October. YUCK! RE: The Weather Thread - Scythe Matters - 09-23-2011 12:29 AM Today was weird... wet and cloudy but warm, almost balmy. I went for my walk (Bubba lays down the beat, I walk to it - best exercise regimen ever!) and there were mayflies everywhere. On the way back, the sun broke through the clouds and lit them up... it was magical. One landed on me and I made a wish for it to carry away. I'm such a romantic. Supposed to be nice for a few more days. Indian summer
RE: The Weather Thread - valhalla66 - 09-28-2011 11:49 AM What is Fall like? It is still too hot in my neck of the desert. Must travel upwards to experience the changing of the leaves

Having grown up in the San Fernando Valley in California, I never had the chance to really experience autumn until I was an adult. It still amazes me, after all these years, to see the leaves change color and to walk in the dry leaves on a cool fall evening! Its very beautiful! RE: The Weather Thread - Boomer - 09-28-2011 07:36 PM I'd say maybe 8 weeks of riding left in the year yet. Once it starts hitting in the low 20's I'm done parked. By the time that happens we usually are looking at snow. It was cloudy foggy rainy cool this morning. Fog cleared up but not much sun today. RE: The Weather Thread - VincentUlyssis - 09-28-2011 08:25 PM It's still humid here on Long Island. I can't stand the feeling of humidity...but the temperature is relatively cool, so when you run the AC it's too cold. I'm beginning to hope for cooler weather and dry heat. RE: The Weather Thread - N'awlins - 09-29-2011 11:00 AM We've gone from a high of 96 last Saturday to frost on the neighbors' roof and highs in the 60's this week in Spokane, WA. That's typical here it seems...hot to cold, cold to hot, no fall, no spring, just extremes. Put that on top of a winter forecast that's supposed to bring the 2nd worst snowfall in history, and call the travel agent for a tropical trip! |
