Trying to send some of our cool temps and sprinkles where ya'll need them. Cuz I'm sick of them! A little more warm would be great but, as usual, July 4th will be overcast. Undecided

Yeah. We could use a bit of snow and ice today, and tomorrow!

Yesterday we had thunderstorms off and on all day. Drove home from work in a severe one with some amazing lightening. The rain kept the temps comfortable for once. However, today it's back to the upper 90s.

36 days of no precip, a complete lack of common sence (ain't so common, now izzat?), 2-5% humidity, winds, and gosh, lets just throw a holiday with a heavy use of explosives into it! Woo hoo!

This is not going to be good.

OH...and, this is the really awesome part...our state level "leaders" don't want to make anymore restrictions because they know folks won't listen anyway and will do whatever anyway and they just don't have the resources available (read: time or inclination) to properly hold the wrongdoers accountable. Um....WHAT??? Confused

Wow...

I'll be in the basement under an asbestos blanket holding a charged fire extinguisher...

We are waiting our turn for the pager to go off. I am sure it is going to be a hot one too!! With the application of alcohol I am sure something goofy will happen....

Yeah, no sense--common or otherwise! Here, we aren't allowed to set off fireworks, but vendors can sell them on any roadside Huh

One of our neighbors started shooting off fireworks a few nights ago and got a tongue lashing from many people. There haven't been any more going off around here. At least people are using common sense, for now.
However, last night, several towns had to stop their fireworks shows because of grass fires, and one set the middle school on fireConfused(oops!), but it was taken care of quickly.

Even the professionals are having problems.

RAIN! We got a little RAIN! But it was enough to cool things off and hopefully give the firefighters a break.

So whomever of y'all who did your raindances...thanks! Smile

***Ok, so it's several hours later, and I gotta tell ya...the birds are happy, the grass is happy...this has been one of those nice light soaky rains...SO needed!

Down side is that it's humider'n'hell out there, but meh, I'll deal for a day. Smile

After church, we went to our banker's house to watch the fireworks show at the local high school (she lives down the street). It rained the whole time. I wish I had a pic. Everyone was bundled up and holding umbrellas! The fireworks show was OUTSTANDING!!!!
