That is an A-7 Corsair. The same jet my dad flew. Neat!
You all may recall that movie Top-Gun, too, where 'Maverick's call sign was 'Ghostrider'. There was a bit of controversy over that at the time because that call sign was designated and reserved for the new, and as yet publicly known F-117A 'Stealth Fighter'. Fun little tidbit.
The A-7A my dad and others flew off the USS Constellation had call signs of 'Charger'. So on approach to the ship, when they had the pilots 'call the ball', they would say 'Charger 411 has the ball' for example. 411 being a plane number. 'Charger' let them know audibly on the ship that it was an A-7 Corsair. Other planes, like the venerable F-8 Crusader like my Godfather Mikey flew was known as 'Superheat'.
Dad's personal call sign was 'Pygmy', due to his diminutive stature. I think he was only about 5'6" tall or so.

Called the "Maneater", for obvious reasons if you have ever stood in front of one when it is spooled up.
USS Yorktown. The first time I ever touched several WWll and later era fighters and recon aircraft.
Amazing feeling to stand on the deck of something so wrought with history. Todays carriers would make the WWll era ships look like toys.
There were several other ships at dock on static at the time - including a WWll era sub!

I was actually stationed in Charleston for about 16 months, and we would actually render honors as we passed that ship heading in or coming out of port. Luckily we only did it a couple times because that harbor is about the worst for navigating because of the strong currents. I hope to someday take Mrs B back there and see how that town changed since Hurricane Hugo. Nice post - thanks for the linkys guy!

Okay, here's one worth a laugh, I am getting ready to head home from North Dakota in my company semi and had to take this with my phone's camera. Can anyone guess what Rush album I'm getting ready to listen to?

Looks like you're just finishing up Rivendell.

No way the flood waters will get me, I know how to float.
I got the kufi at kendiskustoms.com. I don't know if they have anymore or not. You just give them your hat size and they make one and it'll be shipped in about a week to 2 weeks time. This was a limited edition kufi.

It was almost accidental, snapped off an experimental shot just as the lights were going down, and the camera didn't have adequate focus time. But despite the lack of quality as compared to the others, still I think it's my favorite for composition - had to share.
Nice work OG! Number 50 is my fav. Thanks for sharing. My time machine is still in film mode - best rev it up and get hip to this computer stuff and get some pix in here.
