Remember...really noisy, flashy-lighted, super obnoxious toys with brand new, fresh batteries. The ones that don't shut off right away. And that move on their own. Those are the best gifts to get other peoples kids! Wink

Gunga.....as the mother of three who have multiple doting grandparents - and if you want to keep peace in the family - DON'T follow CD's advice!!! Tongue

Congrats!! Oh, you'll figure out the name thing soon enough....my mom is "Grammy" so Grammy G could work.....or just GG ("Gigi")!

RE: The Bar - Scythe Matters - 11-29-2011 04:59 AM

Congrats, Gramma G! I hear this gig is much easier than the original kid thing. Remember to buy a set of drums ASAP Wink

Legos....anyone who has ever had a child with Legos knows that pain all too well.

Thanks, everyone for the great advice! Scythe-I'll get on those drums right away Big Grin My son is a very good guitar player, so he needs some backup!

RE: The Bar - 2Beers - 11-29-2011 12:17 PM

Boomer, Mr.2Beers can top you on the LEGOS----Barbie shoes. Yep it's amazing just how far they can wedge themselves in the bottom of a foot when you step on them while going to a fire call at 3 in the morning..

There were a few sets of mismatched shoes, they became Cinderella shoes.

So, Gunga lots and lots of small Barbie assets would be a plus should a little girl arrive. Tongue

Ahh yes the dreaded BARBIE SHOES!!!! Had one wedged right fine into the left middle toe one night. Owww the agony of da feet.

RE: The Bar - N'awlins - 11-29-2011 01:22 PM

Anyone remember the "Lite Brite" toy? My friend had one of those and I was forever stepping on the little colored pegs he'd scatter all over the place! I think one or two may have drawn blood!

RE: The Bar - Boomer - 11-29-2011 02:38 PM

Jacks. Those shiny little metal things with pointy ends that have injured toe and pride time and time again!

Hot Wheels cars don't feel great either...
