Nice to hear your Mom is doing OK, Nawlins! You have my prayers for continued healing!
Glad you and Brian are back here at the grill!

I'll just have a tall glass of ice water. Humidity here is only 5% today...

Thinking good thoughts for your mom, N'awlins -- she sounds like a fighter.

Brian: better a sprained thumb than carpal tunnel. Start drinking with that other hand, eh?

Been hotter than the hinges of you-know-where here the last four days, but a big thunderstorm front is moving through and will drop temperatures at least 20 degrees F, to a much more manageable 72 tomorrow.

N'AWLINS!!!! Been wonderin' where you scuttled off to.....golly, a full plate, fer suuuure!
Glad to hear your Mom's surgery went well and the follow-up shows signs of positivity (or negativity, as it were...). My Dad ("Irwin of Burma," as he like to refer to himself) is 81 years young, a 20-year survivor of prostate cancer plus conquered the devastating effects of chemo for cancerous growths on his kidney (2 years ago). He's all good now.....
I hope your co-worker is recovering in speedy fashion, too!

B-DUB...congrats on your new "home!" Sympathies for your bum thumb Sad .

Drinks on me, all around!!! Summer's in the air...let's celebrate! Big Grin

I want to Thank you all for your warm thoughts the past couple-a' days...I really appreciate the thoughts, and, I told Mom about it tonight when I finally got to talk to her for a minute. She got a giggle when I told her alot of folks on that "Peeert" guys blog were prayin' and sayin' good things for her..."I always liked the way those drums sounded comin' through the roof and rattlin' my dishes!...lol!" Clockwork Angels!...love ya'll! Make sure Nettie locks up!

3/4 oz. Light Rum
3/4 oz. Vodka
1/2 oz. Blue Curacao
3 oz. Pineapple Juice
1 oz. Sweet & Sour Mix

= a Blue Hawaii. If you add creme de coconut, it's a Blue Hawaiian (don't ask me [Image: smiley-confused013.gif] )

You can serve it on the rocks or blended, which I prefer. This is my favorite tropical drink to sip on the lanai as I watch the sunset... 2 months to go!

I'll put the coffee on this morn.
N'awlins good to hear that things are going well for your Mom and Brian I hope the drinks have eased your pain.

It's going to be a long weekend for Fireman and myself. It's Picnic Weekend which is our annual fundraiser for the fire dept. On Fri. And Sat. he helps out at the park flipping burgers, brats and dogs. I help out by working the door(taking the money) on Fri. and Sat. for the Bands that come to entertain and then help out the treasurer count the $ at the end of each nite.

On Sunday is the gigantic parade, Fireman drives our big red truck and I have lots of family up to watch. We have an excellent view from our place. After the parade he works the water barrel fights and I head up to the command center and help count $.

The next couple of nites will be long ones with lots of things to do. So I'll be making sure there is a big pot of coffee always going here at the Bar.

You make that weekend sound really fun! Sounds like a nice small town festival. The beginning of a parade is always my favorite, because it has all the firetrucks and police cars going by with their lights and sirens on. There is something about a big red shiny firetruck, I guess it appeals to the little kid in me, I still rush to the window when I hear the sirens coming, especially if its an old rotary "growler".

Hi Nettie,

Would you mind if my youngest daughter came in the bar tonight, and if we sit quietly in the corner could she have a small galss of cider??

Looks as though she has been dumped by her boyfriend of 8 months, and is heartbroken........at 15 years she thinks that is that, "goodbye to romance" (as the great Ozzy would say).
