Wow Rey, that's an awesome shot of you on the bike! And what a great bike too! Very cool opportunity, my friend!

Nice one mate. Will there be another WW2 story and other pics?

Oddly enough my Fathers parents (my paternal Grandparents whom I never met), were killed in a motorcycle and side car accident. My father was in the sidecar, (aged 5) which broke away in the crash, and he survived, but both parents on the bike were killed.
I am amazed he managed to grow up relatively sane having witnessed that - and then allowed all of us (3 boys and 1 girl) to have motorcycles when we were teenagers.

Sweet bike there Rey! Wish I had something like that for my daily 46 mile interstate drive to work, 'specially with the machine gun fully loaded of course! (damn cell phoners!)

What a great pic, Rey! If it were in black and white, you'd never know it was taken recently!

Yes, it was a very nice bike. It belonged to another reenactor at the event, and he was kind enough let me get the picture, but I have ridden on this bike before. And if I were to get a motorcycle, this is definitely the kind I would want, but I tend to gravitate towards the old, interesting, and unusual.

Well, we will see if there is a small story somewhere. Meanwhile here are some more pictures for you, ones very appropriate for the title of this thread:

Here I am standing in the commander’s position on the German Tiger Tank. This is the actual movie tank used in Saving Private Ryan and the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. This tank was used in the “sticky bomb” scenes and others in Saving Private Ryan.
This tank belongs to another member in my group and was purchased from the movie production company. It was built as a prop for the movie so is not a real Tiger (they are very rare), but is a replica built on a Russian T-34 tank chassis, and is at about 3/4 scale in size to the Tiger. This tank has sheet metal built over the T-34 to give it the Tiger appearance, but is still fully armored underneath, and could still take a hit. The tank runs and drives, and we used it during the main battles of this event. The main gun is now gas fired and it does shoot.

Very cool.........

Rey - I found this clip of a Tiger Tank engine on a test bed, being fired up and run. V12, monster, but so responsive, and quick to rev.

Sounds great to - although not if you were a Sherman Tank driver I bet.

Nice, Rey! Something has FINALLY captured my husband's interest here Smile

Can I borrow that? I want to give this one boy child a little scare....the little cretin showed up at my house with about a hundred 16 penny nails in his ears wanting to date my youngest daughter.

Nice pics Rey! Actually saw a Tiger once as a kid. I was in awe until dad took me to the U509 display in Chicago. After that I was a UBoater.
